Let's play Kanji Shiritori! 漢字尻取をしましょう

親子丼おやこどん Oyakodon (Japanese dish)

It’s chicken and egg together. That’s why it’s parent and child. It can also be salmon with salmon eggs.

Edit: Googled it now because I became uncertain, apparently the salmon variant is called 鮭親子丼 (so the same pun still applies), and salmon eggs are called roe.

Confession: I looked it up. There are 5 words starting with 匙 in the dictionary. Am I supposed to know any of them?? (Or even the word 匙 itself)

Yeah I had no idea either
Again, lucky you looked it up for us @NpPenguin

刑事(けいじ)Detective

刑 is an easy kanji at least. Learned 刑事 playing ジャッジアイズ. 刑事 is more a detective within the police force, while a private detective (like the main character 八神) is 探偵(たんてい)

@NpPenguin Maybe try not using a dictionary too much at least, right? I don’t personally use it and just let someone else answer if I don’t know (like the kanji you answered for).
Kind of takes the fun out of it if you just let a dictionary play the game for you, no?

@FubuMiOkaKoro You’re definitely right. I was just too curious to wait another few days for the answer so that was the only time I used a dictionary. Will see what others answer next time

I think this one might be a game ender  I won’t play them obviously but I was stumped and got curious so I looked up words starting with 僚 of which there are only 4, 3 of which are pretty obscure (as in I have no clue what they even mean in english) with the most commonly used one having a frequency of top 66,500 :grimacing:

ごめんね!

ヒントだよね!

One of the existing possibilities can be considered a natural extension of the basic meaning of the kanji , mostly for English native speakers…

If there is no answer by tomorrow, I could change my entry to another word starting with so as not to forfeit this game.

Am wondering, is 官僚主義 allowed according the rules? It did say multiple kanji overlaps are allowed but what if I just add something to the end?
