Smart way to adjust the width of the kanji to the lenght of furigana. I’ve been looking if there is some way to do it in html, haven’t found something straightforward yet. I tried to insert a NBSP, it didn’t work. I just insert a normal space, which makes the furigana go up a little over it. Your way is more elegant, as it keeps all furigana aligned.
優曇華 (うどんげ) = something very rare (from the legend that the udumbara flowers once in 3000 years)

I wouldn’t have tried it until I saw your attempt at doing it. I thought the furigana wrapping around the character to look pretty cool, but I was wondering if there was any way to bump it up. That’s when I realized leaving the <.ruby> space blank would keep it lowered, so I tried putting a relatively unobtrusive symbol in as a placeholder and it works pretty nice. A lot of extra typing to format it on the phone though www

Curious, what do you guys do with interesting words you find here? Do you put them in a list or just enjoy the moment and move on
To be honest, most times I do the later. The other times I try to memorize them.
