This is one of those words that doesn’t make sense, at least not at face value. I’m sure there’s an explanation for it though.

Seeing as Kanji Shiritori is a completely separate game with separate rules, it would probably be best to stick with the same readings. If you can link the Kanji of the last word and your word, feel free to, but I wouldn’t switch between readings.
We could always open up a Kanji Shiritori Thread as well, if enough people are interested.
