Looking for reading recommendations for JLPT 3-5

Anyone have any favorites they can recommend? Something I can buy from Amazon hopefully.

The tadoku series!
Can’t recommend it enough for people starting out.

Oh those look good. Thank you

  1. The problem with Tadoku is that it gets pretty boring. I suggest looking at their free ebooks first (https://tadoku.org/japanese/en/free-books-en/)

  2. Definitely check out Satori Reader (https://www.satorireader.com/) - there are 2 great things about it that you won’t get with paper books:

  • it has audio for all books (and good one too)
  • each word can be clicked to see the translation and also some notes on the particular form / use in the given sentence
  1. Yotsuba is often suggested as a good starting manga and I very much agree. I actually enjoyed the characters and the plot which I think is very important because otherwise it’s very easy to get bored and tired when you start reading in a foreign language.

  2. Crystal Hunters is a manga made specifically for japanese learners and a lot of people swear by it. I haven’t read it though, so can’t really comment on that.

Awesome thank you. I’ll check those out.

Natively has a really good database of books/shows that can be sorted by levels, and there’s also themed lists.

Basically all of these are my recommendations, too, so seconding all this.
