More guided versions of existing paths?

Due to many people expressing difficulties to properly choosing their daily rate of added grammar points, i wondered if it could be useful to add versions of existing paths that would be more automatically controlled. For instance there could be a maximum number of allowed new grammar points per day and adding new grammar points could be allowed only if previously studied grammar points have reached a certain streak level. What do you think about this idea?

How useful would more controlled progression paths be?

Probably some graph or chart that shows how many reviews you’ll get in the future would be helpful. How many reviews at different rates.
…
I was curious, so I made my own graph…
(of course, this is not including any ghosts that you spawn…)

They have all the stats on number of ghosts, so why not put those statistics to use before new users learn the hard way? I expect they also have stats on answer time.
New users need the answers to the following questions:

  1. If I continue acting like I’m doing today, when will it start to really kick in, and
  2. At that point, how much time will I need to spend on my bunpro reviews everyday

In order to answer these questions, ghosts need to be taken into account. Ghosts are one of the surprises that one quickly learns to “appreciate” as a new user of bunpro.

I strongly believe that one of Bunpro’s main strengths is how open it is…

Having an OPTIONAL more controlled path could be really useful… After all this is one of the pluses of WaniKani.

In some ways Bunpro is becoming better towards this and now one can see Review Forecasts and Review Activity so hopefully we can all make better judgements

Yes i was thinking to another option. This would help beginners to pace their study based on users’ experience (hence the polls). The unlocking condition would help ensuring that basic grammar points are known at some required level before adding new grammar points based on them, just like Wani kani does for vocabulary.

Very interesting chart, thank you.
