I will probably regret this by the end of the weekend, but my goal is to finish the 12 books in the からかい上手の （元）高木さん series this weekend. Which means that on top of the two I’ve already read today I need to work my way through seven more…

The series I’m currently reading (especiallyからかい上手の （元）高木さん) are REALLY easy. Furthermore it’s a re-read for me (except the latest volumes) so I already know what to expect

Yeah, never a bad idea! I’m also returning to Yotsuba&! sometime in the future (as I still need to read the latest volume, and I would love a re-read ) but first is taming Initial D after this, which, as someone with absolutely no car / driving vocab (in any language) will probably be an utter nightmare

I might try and get started on Initial D today, but considering I’ve read 9 volumes in a span of about 24 hours I’m probably going to take it easy today because… Well, my brain is tired and not in the mood for more Japanese mostly

First volume of Initial D has been finished And I don’t know if it’s just due to my level being somewhat higher recently, the ample reading already helping, or Initial D being an easier manga than I expected, but it went quite well if I do say so myself, I might be able to stick to a volume per day at this rate, while I was expecting my speed to drop significantly over the next few weeks at least!

Geez. That’s an amazing progress. Just curious, how much time are you putting in daily in Japanese stuff adding bunpro, the reading and other things you might be doing?
Also it would be nice for reference to know how long roughly it took you to go through the book

On work days where I go by car I only clock one to two hours. If I go by bike I listen to podcasts so that adds another 2 - 2.5 hours in a day. On free days it varies between just one hour if I want to take an easy day up to 8 or so hours (my mental maximum). I’ve dropped pretty much all SRS systems beside bunpro, as I find it works well to assist with grammar, but vocab acquisition has been better for me through sheer exposure. Besides reading in Japanese and BunPro I mainly watch some anime / Vtubers / shows or whatever in Japanese or occasionally (re-)read through a bit of some textbooks to freshen stuff up, nothing too structured.
As for how long the volume took me, I hadn’t timed it, it took quite long but it was still manageable. If I had to guesstimate somewhere around 2 hours though it could be more or less, I’m very bad at estimating time. If I remember tomorrow I’ll time the second volume, but no promises.

Woah that’s a lot.
I’m trying to increase my time spent now that I’m more free, but I’m not sure if I’d be able to reach 8 hours at all.
My average during the last 310ish days is 87 minutes a day. I kinda wanted to increase it to 100 minutes by the end of the year but I’m not sure if that will be plausible, we will see.

As I said, that’s really my max. I think I reach that maybe once or twice a month tops, not an everyday thing Average over time is probably around 3 hours per day if I had to hazard a guess.
