にとってN3 Lesson 5: 14/22 -- use of なのvsな

My question is not about nitotte but it is in the nitotte lesson. In the practice sentences the first sentence has 「なの」after こと。In the second sentence there is only 「な」after こと。
動物に取って、動物園で暮らすのはかわいそうなことなのかもしれない。
政治家に取っていいことが、国民に取ってもいつもいいことわけではない。

Why is there a difference?
Thanks

Hi!

For the first sentence, see if the ことなの grammar point is of any help.

As for the second, it should be the わけではない grammar point, though the in the sentence might be a mistake: I think it should be ‘ことわけではない’, as こと is a noun.

HTH!
