Need a study plan to learn 1000+ N2 vocabs

I am planning on taking JLPT N2 exam on December, which is just a bit more than a month from now. I have 1270 vocabs yet to learn as I am writing this, and I have been doing 20-35 new lessons but I still have to consider getting burn outs. There are some days that I just can’t push myself to learn new ones. I never skip doing reviews in the morning, but it really takes time. I usually get 150+ Reviews in the morning.

Can anyone give me a tip on learning this much vocabs in just a short amount of time while considering getting burn outs and getting tons of Reviews piled the next day?

I don’t want to be a downer, but learning 1000+ new items in a month without a ton of reviews just doesn’t seem realistic. Hell, I’m taking N3 and have around the same amount of learnt N2 words as you do. I’d say don’t push yourself and try again in July with actual preparation if you end up failing.

Two ideas:

  1. Try to use Bunpro 3 times per day if time allows.
Morning session - Do all reviews + a lesson
Noon session (4 hours after morning session) - Do all reviews
Night session (8 hours after noon session) - Do all reviews
Three sessions reduces the amount of reviews you have the next morning and aligns with Bunpro’s SRS intervals for the new items (4 hours, then 8 hours).

  2. Create Anki deck of missing items.
Use an existing N2 Anki deck (this one has the same number of items as bunpro) and work through that, skipping the items you already know. Only use “Again” or “Easy” when marking answers.
If you want a more tailored option, you could send Claude/GPT a link to the JLPT N2 vocab and tell it where you’re up to. It should be able to create Anki cards for the items you’re missing. I’d have the Kanji on the front side, and the meaning and reading on the back side as that’s really all you’ll need for JLPT.

As @frogg said, 1000+ items is gonna be extremely difficult unless you can guarantee tons of study per day, it’s pretty much 36 new words per day. But you shouldn’t worry about getting them all done, you don’t need every word to pass the exam. Keep grinding and believe in yourself!
