I feel like lifetime purchase on this website worth every penny. Thank you for always moving the bar high.
Just to add to this. On top of grouping similar grammar in a higher-level Topic, could there be a different grouping or linking of similar-sounding Japanese with different usages? For some reason, ように / ような (and even ようにする、ようになる, maybe even よ) are still tripping me up right now. It could really just be me needing to review and really practice these separate (mostly N4) grammar points but just in case it makes sense to you too… My first spreadsheet of my own notes on grammar points actually grouped them by form (て form, dictionary form, drop-the-ます form, etc.)
Great new feature! This is what I was looking for a long time!
omg this looks so useful
Really loving all the changes recently! Just started N4 Grammar but will go through these as they seem fun and useful. Would you recommend a new learner to first go through the topics before they do the individual grammar points? You guys will probably be done with N1 topics before I am halway through n4 lol
This is great, it would have been FANTASTIC to have when I started this journey. As a teaching method is far superior to just SRS by itself. Please keep it up and reach at least N2.
Gracias Bunpro team for constantly adding more and more value.
lmao i love the gif at the bottom but anyways great great update it’s so cool to see grammar points difficult to understand for the first time well explained later on topics, hope yall do more updates like this
Amaaazing! When will it be available on the android app?
Also it would be great if the vocabulary used in the sections and reading parts could be added to the reviews ( just like the vocab coverage feature maybe?)
I was going to sleep when I noticed the notification and now I am hooked
Thank you Hardworking Possum gang of Bunpro
I shall utilise this right meow !
Loved the new feature. Not particularly useful for me because I’m in the middle of the N3 grammars, but it would absolutely help me if I was just starting out. I bet it will help out a lot new learners.
Please make topics on more advanced topics as well.
Unironically one of the things to not forget is how good the textbooks are.
Yall really just trying to dominate the Japanese-learning market with all these amazing tools. Bunpro has been incredible, and pretty much everything I’ve learned here has been applicable to my life here in Japan. Massive thanks to all that you do!
@Viki @Urazi @janjan2 @Evandijk @flori567 (apologies if I forgot to tag someone here!)
As we normally do with new features or changes, we release first on the site and, once we are sure everything is working as intended, will try to bring the app up to date as soon as possible. I can’t give an exact timeline but it is definitely being worked on!
This is exactly the sort of thing we plan to include! We want to include more comparisons, whether that is with grammar points that have similar meanings or, as you mention, grammar points sharing similar elements but used differently.
Topics are definitely appropriate for new learners and you can learn the grammar points through Topics!
The grammar points are integrated into the flow of the Topic. Meaning the Topics are specifically designed so that you can learn grammar points whilst using them. Within a Topic, you should see the relevant grammar points after the introduction, including a button to “Learn” them then and there. You can also just read through them if you want a refresher or are not ready to add them to your reviews yet.
The flow is: Intro (general, light introduction) → Grammar Points (for explanations and focused details) → Details (comparisons between points, deeper dive into a concept, etc.) → Practice (immediately apply what has been learnt)
We have specifically designed Topics with new learners in mind (although hope they are still useful as revision aids for more advanced learners). Especially for learners who want more practice opportunities and context, we hope Topics can become the default way someone learns new grammar through Bunpro.
Awesome addition! I love it. I think it will be a great way to go back and review content without doing a reset!
By the way (not sure if other’s have asked), is there a way to track your progress/completion of the topics? EDIT: Yes… I just had to actually do it to find the “mark as complete” button
Love this as an idea! Bridges the gap between memorisation and learning that I sometimes find myself falling into.
This may be beyond the scope of what you guys have in mind, but are there any plans for custom topics in the same way that there are custom decks? I think it would complement the “For Teachers” service really well.
Do you mean custom Topics as in Topics that users can build themselves from scratch?
This is not something that we have discussed at all, but it is definitely not a bad idea I think, especially if there are teachers/tutors that want to build their own curriculum with grammar points in a specific order. I will pass on the idea to the team!
Thank you
