As we normally do with new features or changes, we release first on the site and, once we are sure everything is working as intended, will try to bring the app up to date as soon as possible. I can’t give an exact timeline but it is definitely being worked on!

This is exactly the sort of thing we plan to include! We want to include more comparisons, whether that is with grammar points that have similar meanings or, as you mention, grammar points sharing similar elements but used differently.

Topics are definitely appropriate for new learners and you can learn the grammar points through Topics!
The grammar points are integrated into the flow of the Topic. Meaning the Topics are specifically designed so that you can learn grammar points whilst using them. Within a Topic, you should see the relevant grammar points after the introduction, including a button to “Learn” them then and there. You can also just read through them if you want a refresher or are not ready to add them to your reviews yet.
The flow is: Intro (general, light introduction) → Grammar Points (for explanations and focused details) → Details (comparisons between points, deeper dive into a concept, etc.) → Practice (immediately apply what has been learnt)
We have specifically designed Topics with new learners in mind (although hope they are still useful as revision aids for more advanced learners). Especially for learners who want more practice opportunities and context, we hope Topics can become the default way someone learns new grammar through Bunpro.

Awesome addition! I love it. I think it will be a great way to go back and review content without doing a reset!
By the way (not sure if other’s have asked), is there a way to track your progress/completion of the topics? EDIT: Yes… I just had to actually do it to find the “mark as complete” button

Love this as an idea! Bridges the gap between memorisation and learning that I sometimes find myself falling into.
This may be beyond the scope of what you guys have in mind, but are there any plans for custom topics in the same way that there are custom decks? I think it would complement the “For Teachers” service really well.

Do you mean custom Topics as in Topics that users can build themselves from scratch?
This is not something that we have discussed at all, but it is definitely not a bad idea I think, especially if there are teachers/tutors that want to build their own curriculum with grammar points in a specific order. I will pass on the idea to the team!

Maybe for the future it could be mentioned if something is only available on the webpage and the app version will follow later on, to avoid confusion. I manly use the app, and the webpage only as a backup. Others may be in a similar situation.

In general almost every new content feature is like this if it contains new design elements and is not just a simple update of something like audio on preexisting things.
Good point though on mentioning it, will make a note to add an app release notification to future big announcements!

Wow, I am very impressed and pleased with Topics!
This kind of holistic learning approach really reinforces the grammar points in my head, rather than just cramming and spamming the cloze reviews.
Both in combination help to create new mental pathways in my brain to support “learning” rather than just memorization.
I’ve done a few of these kind of things myself in blank exercise books, like grouping all the “must do” variations, but it’s nicer seeing it done professionally lol.

This is really what was needed - something to tie all the individual grammar together. I love Bunpro, but sometimes I struggle with just hammering individual disconnected grammar points into my head. This really solves the rest of the equation. Really celebrating my lifetime purchase right now lol.

One UI issue I have with topics. When I mark this topic as complete at the end. The button changes to the label ‘Done!’ which I always click on thinking it will take me to the next topic.
I think the issue is the status of the button is confused with the action it does.
