Newbie, Completely Confused by the Menu

Hi … I’m doing a lot of clicking, but I’m not getting anywhere!

I’m assuming lessons come up in some order? (Or else, why would there be an option to select Genki 1 path, or Tae Kim path).

But when I select a path (let’s say Tae Kim’s Grammar Guide) and then I go to Grammar -> Lessons (so I can start learning), it’s unchanged … I have to pick between N5 N4 N3 N2 N1, there’s no “this is the 1st lesson in Tae Kim’s Grammar Guide”). So what’s the point of the path.

I’m sure I’m missing something, since the community here (and on Wanikani) eagerly discuss the merits of various paths, so they must differ somehow.

Help!

Assuming you don’t want to do it in JLPT order:
Firstly, click ‘paths’

Then choose which path you want. I’ve used your example.

You should then get this screen. You can choose to study a full chapter or each grammar point individually.

Thanks so much! So essentially, if I want a non-JPLT path, I pick my preferred path and then completely ignore the Grammar -> Lesson menu items. I just stay in my pathway, so to speak, going through items one at a time?
