After logging in today I realised the badge of my avatar was reset to some lower XP Badge and while trying to change it back to my current JLPT Level I failed to select anything other than XP Badges.
Has this been changed or is it a bug?

Hey! This was indeed a bug. I pushed the patch we implemented so it should be working now
