Hey everyone!
I wanted to share a tool I just finished building. It’s an OpenClaw skill that syncs your Bunpro grammar progress data locally so you can run queries, generate stats, and get insights.

What it does:

• Syncs your study queue, due items, user stats (SRS overview, JLPT progress, daily/hourly forecasts, review activity) to a local SQLite database

• Incremental sync support (only fetches what’s changed since last sync)

• Query tools for common reports: grammar leeches, SRS distribution, upcoming review forecast, JLPT progress by level

• Full SQL access for custom queries

API note:

This uses the community-documented Frontend API (not the settings API key). You need to extract the JWT token from your browser’s DevTools - the skill includes full instructions. It’s a bit of work. Make sure you manage to retrieve it before you spend money on OpenClaw.

Multi-platform tracking:

I also built a similar skill for WaniKani (kanji/vocab), so you can track both grammar and kanji progress in one OpenClaw instance. The two databases can be cross-referenced - for example, finding which grammar points use kanji you’re weak at in WaniKani. And you can use this information as input for other OpenClaw actions (like generating graded readings or exercises focused on specific grammar points or kanji combinations)

API Limitation Update

Quick update on the Bunpro sync skill: I’ve hit some API limitations that affect what data can be pulled.

What works:

• User stats, SRS distribution, review forecasts ✓

• Due counts, JLPT progress tracking ✓

• Study queue, ghost review counts ✓

What doesn’t:

• Specific grammar point titles/names (the endpoint returns 500 errors)

• Full review history (also 500)

• Complete grammar catalog (the /learn endpoint only returns the next 3 items to learn)

Result: The skill can track your progress metrics (24 grammar points at Guru+, 7 in Apprentice, accuracy %, etc.) but can’t tell you which specific points those IDs map to (like “ID 2 = です”). You can see the counts and due dates, but not the actual grammar titles without cross-referencing on bunpro.jp.

This is a limitation of Bunpro’s Frontend API, not the skill itself. The community API docs confirm these endpoints are unstable. I’ll keep the skill updated if better endpoints become available.

Still useful for tracking due dates and getting a birds-eye view of your progress, hopefully.
