11549 + 45 = 11594
11594+ 118 = 11712
11712 + 15 = 11727
11727 (community total) + 5 (my reviews) = 11732
11732 (community total) + 75 (my reviews) = 11807
We’re gathering momentum! Not long until we can afford our ticket to Aomori! Please forgive me if I reply slightly late, I’m away during Golden Week for my best friend’s wedding, but I’ll get in as and when I can.
For the time being, here’s a quiz for any kanji otakus out there, especially those who love food.

For the record, my calligraphy teacher couldn’t even read this so I’d 100% forgive you if you have absolutely no idea what this is, but here’s a couple of hints:
- it goes very well in a nabe (Japanese hot pot) or as tempura with salt.
- it is usually written as two seperate kanji, which would make it much easier to read.
- it’s eaten in the autumn in Japan.
Have fun!
11807 (community total) + 37 (my reviews) = 11844
11844 (community total) + 10 (my reviews) = 11854
11854 (community total)+ 18 (my reviews)= 11872
Could not find it in the dictionaries I have on monokakido
11872 (community total)+ 31 (my reviews) = 11903
11903 (community total) + 17 (my reviews) = 11920
11920 (community total) + 13 (my reviews) = 11933
11933 (community total) + 25 (my reviews) = 11958
11958 (community total) + 63 (my reviews) = 12,021 (neat-looking number : I am happy!)
Please let us know how your wedding speech went when you get back. Since this is a gourmet-themed thread, I’m intrigued about the food served at Japanese weddings. Perhaps your best friend’s wedding attempted to be a little more unique and different than the usual weddings?
