Quartet grammar points

Quartet grammar decks have been officially released (check first reply for links by @mrnoone, if you dont see Decks on the bunpro homepage, make sure you are opted in into beta - its on the first page of setting page.

Thanks again for introducing this! My post of gathering grammar points manualy is obsolete, but if you are curious, you can see it here:

Old Post

Instead of usual Tobira, Ive decided to follow Quartet books after finishing Genki, (mainly thanks to Tokini Andy having videos on them, they were really nice together with genki).
However there isnt a path for that here (yet?), so as im going through it i thought, why not post it for others as well?
Note that division into parts as well as names of grammar points are just straight from Andys videos and the names might simplify it too much sometimes, but its nicer to have some quick line about what it does without opening the grammar point first.

Feel free to add any grammar points im missing

@whitechocorabbit tried to do something similar but dissapeared very soon after they made the thread. I should be editing this with new lessons about every month.

Lesson 1

Part1

1)Speaking of… with といえば
といえば

2)The many uses of なら (expanding on Genki2 with more usages)
なら
Not as in depth with usages, just grouped as one grammar point

3)Exactly as… with とおり
とおり

4)It seems… and the perfect example of… with らしい
らしい ①
らしい ②

Part2

5)In order to… ために・ための (do not confuse with grammar point ために - due to)

no grammar point for がきっかけで

7)Come to do… ようになる
ようになる

8)Make a point to… ようにする

9)According to… Nounによると
によると・によれば

Lesson 2

Part1

1)The Written/Formal て Form
its hard to search for those as they are not really grammar point, more of a way how to use already known grammar point in different way. I found only the one for V(ないで) and its exception for しないで.
ずに
no grammar point for formal writing of V(て)、V(ていて)、い-adj(て)

2)Has begun to… Will begin to… with てくる and ていく (focus on the part “has begun to” / “will begin to” and not the Genki1 “to go and do something”, its not the same!)
てくる
ていく

3)Only… しか~ない (one part is genki2 refresher with numbers, but has second part that uses nouns and not numbers which is kinda new, but pretty intuitive)
Number + しか〜ない
しか-ない

4)Decide to… Make it a rule to… ことにする
ことにする

5)気 Expressions
にきがつく
に気をつける
no grammar point for が気に入る

Part2

1)Thanks to… with おかげ
おかげで

2)The more you… XはXほどY
ば〜ほど

3)Similes and Idioms with まるでNOUNのようだ
まるで…ようだ

4)Outside decisions with ことになる

Hey people
I just dropped by to say that two quartet decks have been released today!

We believe that decks have more friendly user interface than paths.

Cheers!

I am trying to cram the Quartet Decks but they don’t appear there. Am I missing something? They don’t seem to appear in the cram textbook paths options.

Several of the newer features are still only available in the Beta program, and this includes the new-ish Decks feature. You just need to go into your Account Settings and select to Opt-In to the Beta.

Then you’ll be able to access Decks (see menu/navigation), and on the Decks page you’ll find the Quartet decks.

Thank you for answering! Yes, I did that but I can’t still find the books on Cram. I would like to focus on Quartet 1 through Cramming.

I do see them on the Paths.

Is this an issue anyone else has had? Or is only me?
Again, thank you!
