Hi
I’ve finished Genki 2 and I was reviewing (long time ago) Genki 1 here. Can I just review Genki 2?. It seems I only have Genki 1 reviews piled up. Maybe there is a way to remove Genki 1 from my list and only add the Genki 2 topics easily?
No way to do this?. Maybe the developers might know a workaround?
If you don’t want to study Genki I then either manually remove each point or just do a reset of your account. But I don’t think you quite understand what the point of SRS is, why not just keep both and do them at the same time?
I think @EdBunpro is being harsher than necessary (everybody has different study habits), but I agree that those are options.
- Reset all of your account (under Profile) and choose only Genki II path.
- Manually remove points that you no longer want to see.
- Click on “I know this!” for points that you no longer want to see but also want the XP points for them.
The reason I don’t want to review Genki 1 here is because I’ve already made an Anki Deck on my own for that
Thank you
I’ll try to go with the last two options and see how it goes. If it does not work or it’s too tedious, I’ll just reset my account
Oops wasn’t meant to come off as harsh or anything! Sometimes nuance is hard to convey via forum post haha. My point was that sometimes people will think they know a grammar point but then in a month’s time it turns out they forgot, hence where the SRS can help.
@ulonix As long as you made it work on your end! Did you create your own deck or take bits and pieces from others? I know before Bunpro I tried to use TK and other grammar decks just to see what it would be like and it was a horrible experience because (imo) Bunpro likes to throw out some curveballs on points that make you really think about the answer you’re about to type in. Feel free to post a screenshot of a card example if you’d like, I’d be interested in seeing it!
I think Bunpro has a really great way to throw curve balls as you say. In my case I want to focus on Genki 2 because I’ve started doing Quartet right now, and I’m forgetting some N4 stuff. Here’s an example of my grammar deck for Genki 1, it’s just all over the place tho, grammar + vocab, but some cards are grammar based with sample sentences. In some cases I put spanish to reinforce the ideas (my native language)
Sounds and looks interesting! I’m sure as you use the deck and sub-decks more and more it’s going to come together even nicer. Are the example sentences taken from Genki directly? Could probably use some of the ones on Bunpro that are on the more difficult side.
Some of these phrases have been taken from Genki, when I think I will use them. When I created these I wanted to keep it really simple, to have a reference. But these days, I tend to think that the grammar cards should have a main grammar point and also mix other grammar from previous books.
