Just wanted to follow up on this. We found the source of the periodic slow downs.
For some reason the code that syncs your level etc with the forums would cause timeouts that caused more timeouts and so on. This caused the site to be super slow for about 10-15 minutes every 26 hours or so.
We disabled the sync as a test to see if it was indeed the problem and since that time late last week it hasn’t happened. We have a solution we are planning on implementing this week that should allow the forum sync to be turned back on.
