Review and cram functions are extremely buggy

Basically what the title says. I always seem to have issues with the review and cram functions on Bunpro, and those are arguably the most essential functions that this site provides.

One of the big issues I encountered today is getting an infinite “loading reviews” screen. This happened before in the past, but usually if I refreshed it would go away, but today it’s really not letting me progress any further. I have tried several browsers and my internet works absolutely fine (every other website I access is functional), so it clearly can’t be a problem on my end.

The cram function is usually buggy. Whenever I access the cram screen, usually I can’t select grammar points to cram until I refresh the page. It wouldn’t be so annoying if it would happen just once, but this is literally every time I access the page, again, on every big browser I’ve tried (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, hell even Opera).

I feel like these problems could have an easy fix and it’s really making me reconsider my Bunpro subscription. If the website doesn’t allow me to do what it promises me I should be able to do, then what’s the point?

Next time this happens I’d suggest taking a screenshot and posting it here so the admins can take a deep dive on it. I’ve used the cram feature regularly since joining and have never seen that before, bummer it’s happening to you.

Screenshotting it would not explain the problem better in any way. I could shoot a video demonstrating it, but I think I’ve expressed myself well enough. Basically, when I click the “cram” button and try to select grammar points to cram, the blue outline around them does not appear and I am not actually able to select them for cram until I refresh the page and repeat the process, after which the blue outline will actually appear and I will be able to cram said points. This happens often enough to be very annoying/distracting.

Oops I forgot to type a key word in my reply - take a screenshot of the console log to see if anything is in there that shouldn’t be there. Might not be able to pinpoint the exact cause through it, but it might be able to help narrow down potential things.

Dang you even tried Opera? I don’t think I’ve even heard of anyone use that browser for a decade or longer. Talk about dedication

Have never had this occur for me. Its probably something to do with your account. Just for safety sake, try clearing the cache for your browser, or reload the site without referencing the cache (ctrl + f5 on most browsers, on Windows).

Other than that, try submitting in the actual bug reports thread instead of making your own thread.

As one of the people that goes through a lot of feedback and error/bug reports that come in to the website, you are not alone. I would recommend trying what some of the other users have suggested (clearing your cache etc), but on top of that I would just like to reassure you that we are constantly trying to fix these bugs.

Sometimes a tiny change can affect a great many things. For example, I once changed the title of one of the grammar points in the wrong entry field, and it killed the entire grammar page for a couple of hours! (sorry everyone, I’ll never try that again).

Judging from the other users feedback that we get, this really is something that affects some people, and not others. I have never had it happen to me, and I would love if everybody had the same positive experience whenever using the site. One of the best things you can do is send us an error report, and include as specific information as possible. Example - ‘I was doing my reviews when I clicked on X, and Y happened. The review that I was on when Y happened was ほど. I am using Chrome on PC.’

Information about exactly where you were and what you clicked on when something went wrong can help to identify small bugs really quickly, and fix them.

Disclaimer - I am not one of the programming guys, but I do see all the reports while doing other types of feedback. Unfortunately I can’t answer specific things that may cause certain bugs to arise, due to my lack of knowledge in that area.
