Review Cards Keep Coming Back Into My Review Pile After Being Marked As Correct

In the last 2 days I’ve noticed that whenever I’m doing my Bunpro reviews, some cards/words will go straight back into my review pile after being marked as correct resulting in me redoing a bunch of cards. I wouldn’t really care if it was one or two, but I probably had to repeat around 50 today, some multiple times over to get them to go away. Its not because of Ghost Reviews, I have them turned off.

If anyone has any fixes or if anyone knows why this happens plz let me know. Been using bunpro for multiple years and this has never happened to me.

I’ve seen that happen a few times too, but it’s usually only 2 ish cards

Happens to me sometimes too, i sus it could be because of an unstable connection (at least in my case?)

Two things it could be:

  1. You don’t always wrap up items
    • When you then mark a previously un-wrapped-up item as correct in a subsequent session, it will show up as incorrect in the Summary (and behave as an incorrectly answered item)
    • This could be the case, as it sounds like your example of 50 items you mentioned was from a very long Review session?
    • If the Review session took a while (like an hour or something) I can see this being possible
  2. It’s a bug
    • We recently have released quite a big behind the scenes update to simplify our Reviews code
    • We may have introduced a bug

Thanks for getting back to me on this one. I used to not always wrap up items, but that was months ago (not sure if that would affect this), but now I’m pretty much always wrapping them up. Another thing to let you know (not sure if this would affect this issue or not) is that I typically do my reviews in chunks, if I have 300 reviews I’ll do them in chunks of 60-100 ish, so that I don’t have too many words to wrap up in one go.

Typically this bug seems to arise at the very end of my reviews, usually in the last 100 or so, even though the “sessions” are a fraction of the total reviews I’ll have for a given day as mentioned above. So each session wouldn’t be longer than maybe 30 minutes, but I’ll do multiple sessions one after each other, so sometimes I might be doing it for almost 2 hours depending on how much I have to review.

Upon experiencing it more and more in the past few days, I’ve started to pick up on why it starts to happen. If I mark everything 100% correct there are no issues, if I mark any of the cards in the session wrong that’s when the problems start to occur. If in any given session I mark some cards wrong, both the cards that I got right first time round and the cards I’ve had to wrap up will just come back into my review queue as if I hadn’t touched them. Sometimes the cards show back up after closing the session, sometimes its literally mid session, and ill see the progress bar shift and the cards being shown to me again. The amount of cards that reappear vary wildly as well, sometimes only a few come back, and sometimes I’ve had literally every single card come back (which is super frustrating and confusing when learning new cards).

Its only started happening since Tues/Wednesday, so it could possibly be due to that new patch?

Yeah turns out you were spot in!
Beginner 0 items were bugging out when getting answered incorrectly – even when wrapping up.

I’ve fixed it now.
