Thanks! I didn’t initially reply to this bc I also didn’t want to derail the thread, but I’ve been using this resource for about 10 minutes every day since you posted it. I really appreciate it!
Like how SuperNative works!
Yes!!! But sadly SuperNative is kinda limited in my opnion
Hi!
The Elo idea is interesting, but it would be a very large refactoring and honestly a bit tricky to fit alongside SRS, since the whole site is built around it and the two systems would work against each other in some ways.
That said, I actually just released an update that includes an EXP and level system! It’s purely visual for now, but hopefully it adds a bit of that motivating feeling of progression and gives you a reason to keep coming back to reviews
of course that’s the point
Are app account and forum account separate? I have an issue - I can’t log in, after logging the site keeps loading infinitely, it can’t load the dashboard. I wanted to report it on the forum but my login & password don’t work there
EDIT: Doesn’t work in chrome browser on my desktop but works on my phone and in Microsoft Edge on desktop
I’m really enjoying the app so far, thanks for your work in putting it together
The only minor annoyance is when I get something wrong and then get a chance to correct it later. The negative buzzer noise sounds when I correct my mistake (because I have levelled down), but it’s a little jarring because I hear the buzzer only after I type in the correct answer.
Would it be possible to change the sound so the buzzer sounds when I first type the incorrect answer, rather than when I retype the correct answer?
Purely psychological, but it always catches me off guard
Thanks for the feedback! The sound is meant to represent the SRS level update, which is why it only triggers once the item is finished and scheduled for next review. I think that playing it for every incorrect submission might become even more annoying.
That said, I’ll definitely look into switching to a “softer” sound alternative that feels a bit less demotivating.
Also, you can toggle both correct and incorrect sounds off in the session settings (the icon in the top-left corner).
To be fair, I believe this is also how WK handles it. I agree about it sounding a bit jarring in that sense, as both on WK and your app, it always makes me think I got it wrong in that instance. Which I did, it was just wrong earlier in the queue.
Not sure I have a good suggestion for changing it, though.
This is how I use Kikikata on my iPad and I love it!
@qehbr has put a lot of effort into refining the iPad experience and is very open to suggestions for improvements.
