State of Book References

Hey there,

one of the important features of BunPro is for me the direct reference of the grammar point to the book page in Genki. This allowed for a great workflow. From a quick search, it seems that Genki I and II, alongside other beginners level books, are handled fine and most grammar points are cross referenced.
But what about starting from N3? There is e.g. the Tobira book and the Kanzen Master series.
Are there any plans to add the corresponding pages from intermediate books to the reading sections too?
The uncertainty, if I can still maintain my workflow in the later levels is hindering me from becoming lifetime right now.

Thanks.

Yes we will be adding those books as well as the Soumatome grammar book! We are focusing on getting the extra sentences done for N3 and after that we will add related grammar and more book references.

Another good followup to Genki that you might consider is The Japan Times’ own unofficial ‘Genki 3’ - An Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese.

Is any chance that “book references” get same checkboxes as link references?

Thanks!

I considered my option ~2.5 years ago when I was in Japan and settled on Tobira in the end.
(Yeah, and still not there. But getting!)
I could not say way anymore though, just that I liked it the most of all options.

I own this book along with ‘Japanese the Manga Way’ if @Jake would like me to go through either to add to the site.

That would be great! I imagine there are quite a few other users who have those books and would appreciate having the reference page numbers.

Sure thing! I can email them again like last time. It might take me a bit to go through them. But I’ll try to get through them as soon as I can

I sent out the first half of ‘Integrated Approach’ just so ya’ll have it sooner rather than later. I’ll try to get to the rest some time this week, then do ‘Japanese the Manga Way’ after that.

Had some free time today! Sent the rest of ‘Integrated Approach’

‘Japanese the Manga Way’ will probably take me longer, but I figured that’d be fine, since N5/4 have books already, and Genki is more popularly used anyway.

@Jake perhaps you could consider making the readings section in some way a wiki? Or run a wiki instance alongside bunpro, with links from the reading page straight into it, so further references could be collected and made available without taking up as much of your time?

Just curious on the state of the book references for the Soumatome series. Do you foresee any updates within this year?
