Studying kanji with Bunpro

Hi all,

Does Bunpro support learning the kanji spelling of vocabulary words?

This is how I imagine it working: I am shown a vocabulary word, such as 学校, and I have to write “がっこう” as the answer.
Does Bunpro support this type of learning?

I have tried it with the different Vocab Review Types, but unfortunately, I was not successful.

Have you looked at the decks? There are different sets based on textbooks or JLPT levels. Or there are other platforms where you can use or make decks (Anki, https://ankiweb.net/shared/decks?search=japanese) Usually, they show a kanji and you have to input the meaning or reading.

I also use Wanikani, which is a platform just for learning kanji that is basically like you described. I’ve used it much longer than Bunpro, and the two can be integrated. But for Wanikani, you have to start at 0, even if you have previous kanji knowledge, while Bunpro lets you choose your level.

Good luck!

I agree with Sarah that an anki deck will have that kind of review.

This is the best free intermediate anki vocab I know of. I agree with the author’s Japanese advice, but not everything he says (Discord is a Chinese spy, for example)

www.japanese-like-a-breeze.com and Jo-Mako's Japanese Guide both have free beginner decks, then intermediate are on Patreon

All of the above and https://learnjapanese.moe/ have instructions on how to make your own advanced vocab list.

I hope that helps

Hi,

yes, I know. There are other platforms which support the style of studying I was talking about.
I use WaniKani.

I am specifically referring to Bunpro, I just want to make sure if I am missing something or if this style is not supported on Bunpro.
