Suddenly I Have 90+ Vocab Reviews

I have only been studying Grammar with Bunpro doing three lessons a day and my reviews. All of sudden, I have 95 reviews to do today (I had 12 yesterday) and they are mostly just Vocab. Is there a way to turn Vocab back off?

I have never done a Vocab “lesson” on Bunpro so I have no idea where it is even drawing them from. Is it something messed up with the sync from Wanikani? I don’t have time to do another 90+ vocabs reviews a day on a second website.

You can change your WaniKani sync settings in Settings > General > Wanikani (Update Settings). There’s Practice Mode if you want all the imported vocab to be Seasoned level automatically, and you’ll have to review them occasionally (which is what I have it set to). If you’d rather not deal with them entirely, you can use the Mark as Mastered option instead. Just click Import Once and the vocabs should update accordingly.

I removed my Wanikani API key, but the vocab reviews are still there. So the only way to remove them is to go through and mark all 92 as mastered?

I don’t even understand how it picked the 92 vocab words from Wanikani in the first place. I am level 37 on WK and have something close 3000 words in progress and another 3000 or so burned already. I did the syncing with WK just to get rid of furigana on words on knew, not to add duplicate reviews. I wanted Bunpro only for grammar.

Settings - reset - reset vocab

You can reset the vocab entirely as shown by @Marifly . As for why your vocabs didn’t sync properly, I reckon it’s just the Bunpro sync being weird, I have to manually sync before reviews despite having auto sync enabled. Not sure why that’s the case.

Thanks for the help. It must have just been a bug with syncing with WK. I deleted my API Key, put it back, forced a sync, and they disappeared again.

The same thing happened to me today - I suddenly have 50 vocab reviews despite only studying grammar so far on BunPro. I’ve been studying for about 3 weeks now so it was very surprising to see the reviews appear only now.

I’m also a WaniKani syncer. I do like that feature for hiding the furigana. However, I’ve decided I won’t be doing vocab study on BunPro.

My fix was to completely delete the WK API Key, then re-add it and make sure you have “Mark as Mastered” selected.
