Suggestion: Allow us to do both Cloze and Reveal and Grade for flashcards as pairs

Hi

I’d really like the ability to double up my reviews (gonna sound crazy but here me out) where I can do both the Cloze review and the Reveal and Grade review.

As a learner who really focuses on conversation, but also wants to pass the JLPT exams, I need the ability to do both, but limiting to one or the other feels like is holding me back a bit.

When I get reviews, I’d like to have 2 separate sentences using the same grammar point, one that requires me to use the Cloze recall and the other to do the Reveal and Grade comprehension. That means I can get both my recall & comprehension to increase simultaneously.

I understand this would increase my reviews, but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make for complete comprehension around grammar specifically.

This is just my personal suggestion, so your mileage may vary.
By doubling up not only are you going to risk burning out, but you’re going to get nothing but diminishing returns. I’ve done something like this before with Wanikani reviews for a bit and found it to be nothing but a waste of time.
Instead of doing reveal and grade, I would just go straight to reading books to reinforce the grammar. I think you would get a lot more out of it.

If you still want to do reveal and grade and cloze reviews you could always try switching your setting back and forth maybe?

You could keep your reviews to cloze and cram reading as many times as you want or vice versa. it won’t get the srs treatment but it’s a nice stop gap to get in that practice you want for both

You can also try switching them from one review type to the other occasionally – say every other day.
