Suspend specific cards?

Is it possible to suspend different cards without marking them as unlearned or learned?

I have a few cards that haunt me for months. I just can’t memorize them for a longer time and after annoying me for weeks they usually stick temporarly, go into a longer interval and when they come back I don’t know them again and everything repeats again and again. That is of no use and they just waste my time and kill my mood.

Anki has a great feature where cards that I constantly don’t know are automatically suspended and therefore kicked out of the reviews until I manually re-add them. That is quite effective and I can focus on the cards that work well and from time to time I can go through the suspended cards. Sometimes I create mnemonics that help, sometimes they magically work after being suspended for a longer time because my brain is now ready for them for some unknown reason.

I can’t find something like that in Bunpro but maybe I just look in the wrong places, does something like that exist? Doesn’t have to be automatically, manually suspending them would be just fine.

As I said, I don’t want to mark them as learned or unlearned as they would mix up with cards that really belong in these categories. I’d like to recognize them so I can work on them after just ignoring them for a few months. In Anki that usually works very well with vocabulary that is similarly problematic.

By the way, these cards are just a problem with memorizing, not with understanding them. I understand them perfectly fine. My brain just keeps forgetting them over and over again.

Actually the Add to Reviews \ Remove fromReviews works like this already.

If you remove the card from reviews it will stay at the same SRS level. When you add it again you will see that it is added again at the same SRS level
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the reply! But wouldn’t they appear as unlearned in something like the grammar list? That’s what I’d like to avoid. I’d prefer to completely remove them, so I can’t see them anywhere.

I don’t really care about the SRS level because they stay in the beginner range anyway as I constantly forget them. They are unmemorizable for me, that’s why I want to temporarly hide them and work on them a few months later. I even have one from N5 (I completed N5, N4 and N3 and a quarter of N2 now) that I constantly forget.

Hiding these cards worked very well in Anki for me. More in a psychological way by not being confronted with these evil cards that are unmemorizable by me for some weird reason. Getting rid of them is very relieving.
And it’s also practical if you can list all of these cards and try to fix them for your brain somehow. In Anki I can filter for “suspend” or “buried” in the browser and get a list of these highly problematic cards. Once or twice a year I go through the list and try to fix them with mnemonics which works for some of the cards.

If someone wonders… I’m talking about maybe 8 cards from nearly 600 that I have learned. But it’s astonishing how annoying and frustrating these few cards can be.
