Here’s a thought…the previous race was my FIRST Community event I participated in. I made the following information from it and our current one (NOT guaranteed to be 100% accurate, but close enough to portray a general idea of what’s going on).

We finished the previous one in 5 DAYS!!! WOW, I thought to myself, that was SO FAST AND EASY!!! Obviously, so did BP and so they raised the stakes for this one!

At end of the first, second, third and now fourth week, we have:

Avg KMs per day: 13,073; 10708, 9629, and now 9163.
Number of Posts: 473, 284, 208, and now 209.
Projected total # days to finish: 36, 44, 49, and 51.

We’re 28 days into this Race and 55% done with another 23 days to go (which is steadily getting longer).

Each week the avg KMs per day and the number of post per week decreases and the projected total number of days increases.

I have NO DOUBT in my mind that WE WILL finish this race, after all, it’s not like we’re going anywhere and we will continue our studies. But, perhaps, BP went a bit overboard in setting this current goal when the last one was WAY TOO EASY!!!

I’m NOT telling BP to make the next one shorter (or longer). I imagine I will still join the next one no matter how long it is since I’ll still be here for a long while yet. This is just an observation from what went so fast on my first race to something that relatively speaking is going to take A LOT LONGER for my second race.

For all those of you who’ve done previous community races, do you recall how long it took to finish those others which apparently were done quite some time ago?
