Wanikani import - Resulting study pain points

I imported Wanikani to Bunpro today, but the initial workload is massive! I fear it will disrupt my regular learning. I want to stay current on reviews so I hit things on the scheduled time.

Do I just sit and burn through a thousand reviews today?

I haven’t seen a lot of these words in context before, so I’m struggling to use the right word when given the English hint. Also, some of sample sentences feel a lot harder than what I am used to in the beginner section. Lastly, my accuracy is also much lower than normal without seeing the kanji to remember the reading.

Any tips from veterans who did the import on how to best tackle the hiccups that came with it?

Haven’t been in this exact situation before, but what I might do is add the WaraKani Deck to my Learn list, alongside the current Vocab Deck you’re learning from.

Then under Learn Queue Decks, you can manually “Review” content from specific Decks.

Each day I would do X amount of WaraKani Reviews, and try to 100% clear your target Vocab JLPT Deck at the same time.

This would mean continuing normally as before, and slowly whittling away at the Wanikani stuff

That sounds like a perfect answer! Thank you so much! It’s much better than the minor tweaks I was making on my own in the review settings.

If any future readers care:
My tweaks were to put ghosts last (because I made so many of them), and lowest srs level content first. Since all of wanikani imported as seasoned, most of my reviews got to cut it in the review line that way, and I wasn’t bogged down in an infinite ghost loop.

PS: I think I’m going to break 1k reviews today, with abysmal accuracy.

I would defs also disable Vocab Ghosts for the meantime
