Wanikani Sync: reviews queue got ~4x larger?

I read in the Bunpro settings that if I synced with my WK account, I could have it selectively turn off furigana for vocab words I already know. That sounded pretty good to me, so I synced the two.

I was surprised to see my reviews jumped from 200-500ish to over 2200 after the change, though. I’m quite far into WK (level 52), but from the way the setting was described, I thought vocabulary from WK would all be flagged as already ‘mastered’, so was not expecting it to affect my active review count.

I haven’t spent enough time working on the new reviews to know what their content is like, but I’m hoping they’re not just a bunch of vocabulary exercises; I’m not even really sure how to access vocab-specific SRS in Bunpro (if that’s a thing; was unclear to me, from descriptions elsewhere on the site), and mostly like using Bunpro for grammar clozure exercises.

I guess I’m wondering if anyone could help me understand what syncing did to my review queue? What are all of these extra reviews likely to contain in terms of content? Also, is there a way to “revert” syncing with WK, if I decide this was a tragic mistake?

Oh, I figured this out for myself; found in the small ocean of settings there was one to modify the interface to separate Grammar and Vocab reviews. That did the trick; unsurprisingly, the extra ~1900 reviews are all vocabulary, which I plan to ignore for the time being!

You are able to revert it at any time if you’d like to in the future. I don’t have wk so I don’t know the exact steps, but if you’re part of the beta it should be an option under settings and reset

Welcome to the community :tada:

As for vocabulary content, more review styles are available for n3-n5 decks. N2 is currently being thoroughly checked for errors. I haven’t done all the review types, but if you already know them from wk I’d suggest the sentences one. Could be a personal preference, but I’m currently speed running the n5 deck knowing 98% of it. So I have it show me reading exercises that use the vocab in context, where I can pass/fail

I believe there is two buttons, one that sets them to mastered, and one to practice, maybe try pressing the mastered one and see if that gets rid of them?
