I’ve been working to finish the N5 vocab list and have noticed that in some of my review session summaries I have been loosing XP. What causes this and how can I avoid it? There are several words and grammar points in my reviews that I get confused due to similar meaning and spelling so I assume it is getting those mixed up? Thanks
From amnesia. It’s why in video game sequels with the same character, they become weak again.
EXP is based off your total mastery level (though grammar gives more, it seems) thus, if you fail more grammar than you pass, and it leads to an overall lower score (each progrssion seems to give more exp, haven’t tested, but expert 2 >master seems to give far more exp than beginner 1>2) so if you miss a high level grammar point, it may hurt your exp even if you get 2-3 lower level grammar correct.
I think it might be happening due to some vocab being removed from the site
The team seem to be going through vocab and removing words such as those currently in lists like “E1”, “E2”, etc.
Or I’m probably just dropping exp everywhere due to my butter fingers, tbh
They noted it is in the review summary, I think that’s the thing after a review session is done rather than account summary. Though that could be another reason.
Yeah, I did see that, and I don’t know the exact mechanism that’s going on here, but I was thinking for example if any words were removed from the site during a review session and the amount of experience change shown at the end of the review session is done as a crude calculation of #experience(post-session) - #experience(pre-session).
I guess probably only staff will really know what’s going on here.
It’s indeed calculated based on the total amount of items you’ve studied and their SRS progress.
Shouldn’t be any XP lost from the E-list Vocabs being removed tho.
Any Reviews from E-list items should have been transferred to their non-duplicate counterparts.
