I understand it is for cramming all the grammar points in a deck or decks, but why should I use it? Wouldn’t the SRS be enough or grammar is different from vocabulary?
It’s just extra practice! If you are struggling with a particular grammar point or word, sometimes it’s nice to do a bulk cram for more contextual exposure.
Remember you can always change the style in which you cram as well. For example, if you use fill-in for SRS, you can still use cram to practice strictly listening comprehension or reading. These days, I use cram almost exclusively for listening. It’s really helpful.
Basically, it’s just an extra tool. No one is forcing you to use it, but I’ve found it to be super useful.
I really like the cram feature, it allows me to run through my cards without affecting my SRS but note which ones I was either slow on or needed to refresh on.
I then focus on these areas for my study session that day.
Getting to grips with the selections takes a bit of time, especially if you are studying from a textbook rather than Bunpro’s order.
If that’s the case you can select the option to only include sentences that you have studied, this seems to mean you get all your active cards even if you select the whole deck but haven’t studied all cards - I hope that made sense!
In addition to the others, I really liked what @nex_gm posted regarding being able to cram your ‘Troubled Grammar’ points!
I use the cram function, to get a bit more repetition on the beginner items. The spaces in the beginning are too big for me, so I go over my beginner items a few times a day usually.
Sometimes I also add either troubled items or bookmarked items (I manually bookmark things that I don’t fail but still want more repetition on). But cramming beginner items drastically reduced troubled items
Or you could be like me, who is trying to cram just 1 thing daily for a shiny badge
There is no option to cram only the beginner cards right?
oups, I found it
