What is the difference between まで and も?

I’m really struggling with these two grammar points. I just can’t understand which to use in my example sentences and why.

Can you give some specific examples you’re confused by?

まで - until
も - also

駅まで歩きました。
えき まで あるきました。
I walked to (until reaching) the station.

猫が好きです。犬も好きです。
ねこ が すき です。いぬ も すき です。
(I) like cats. (I) also like dogs.

There are cases where they are more similar than that:

Okay yeah I could see that one. It threw me off a little at first too.

I kinda think of this one as like “up to (and including)”.
