This is mostly for me to use as a tracker of my personal milestones and Japanese ability but I thought that I would post it here in case anyone else wanted to read it
1 Month
I started learning Japanese late last year but got burnt out on Anki very quickly after learning hiragana and katakana.
Around a month ago I picked it back up and decided to use Bunpro for both grammar and vocab SRS instead of Anki and to go at a pace that is much more reasonable to what I can actually achieve.
For just over the past month I have been doing 1 new grammar point a day and 5 new vocab words totaling 34 grammar points and 170 words or 204 cards. I do my reviews in reading mode but every few days I also do input crams for the words that I have learned
Currently I am able to read some very basic sentences like the ones available in the early Bunpro n5 reading practice section and I can make out the occasional word or short sentence when listening to spoken Japanese in youtube videos, tiktoks, etc.
Although only 6 new cards a day is not very many I am very happy with my progress over the past month and am proud that I was able to complete a 31+ day streak. I may slightly increase the amount of new words per day after I finish the N5 grammar deck but I think I will continue at my current pace until I complete all of the N5 content on Bunpro which should be sometime in late February or early March and then I can evaluate how I want to do things moving forward.
