Wow, so much fun to see this! Some days I feel like I still don’t understand the most basic of concepts in Japanese, but looking at this recap I realise how far I have actually come this year.

I started learning Japanese 8 months ago and started using Bunpro about 6 months ago. I can’t thank the team behind this website/app enough, since Bunpro has been such a valuable assets to my language learning journey.

Besides the excellent explanation of grammer points, Bunpro has basically become my main hub were I consolidate everything I have learned from textbooks, tutors, Youtube video’s and random stuff I pick up from TV series, books and anime.

Absolutely zero regrets upgrading to Lifetime this week!

Happy holidays everyone!

EDIT: My goal for 2026 will be to finish N4 and N3. Hoping to get a seat for the JLPT next year as well, would be great to have an ‘official’ reward for my learning journey.

I will also be doing my first Japan trip next year (and my first real trip ever actually, lol). Will be going for 3,5 weeks and hoping my time there will also boost my speaking level!

Whoa, TIL I’m 87% done with N5 grammar - that’s pretty wild to think about. Hoping I’ll actually start flexing my skills by reading some actual books in 2026! Happy holidays y’all <3

Slow progress this year, but it sure is better than no progress at all

Started learning about a year and 3 months ago now. Pretty happy with my progress! Most of the focus now has moved on from the SRS that I do (Anki, Bunpro, Kanji Study) and more towards immersion. Still got my 100% streak on here and using Anki since I only started using Bunpro partway through this year!

みんな、おめでとうございます!

Only started using BunPro this year, but I’m pretty happy with how its supplemented my Japanese. I moved to Japan in the Fall of 2024, knowing only hiragana/katakana and essentially no meaningful grammar or vocab outside of absolute survival phrases. I took the N3 this December (I think I passed but listening might burn me). Lately been working on catching up vocab with my grammar, as I learn N2 grammar.
Originally, I only used BunPro for grammar and thought WaniKani + real life would cover vocab. I found this to have been my biggest mistake. I started dating a Japanese girl who speaks zero English in the Summer, and in the early days we were completely unable to have meaningful conversation without the use of AI translations. And that’s what led me to use BunPro vocab, to expand my vocabulary. And now I’m able to sit back and have political discussions with my GF’s family, navigate 不動産屋 conversations fully in Japanese. I still have to whip out the 辞書 often for words I don’t understand, but I feel like I actually speak Japanese now. And BunPro is a massive part of that. Here’s to another year of progress!

Weird how the app says lifetime is $195 but the website says $120

You should buy it via the site! The app stores price includes the 30% the store takes and they prevent us from being able to tell you why and that it is cheaper on the site.
