Bunpro now has a new look!
Bunpro turns a year old this month and we thought it was about time for a new, modern UI.
Not a fan? You can always change back to your preferred theme in settings.

Did everything (on my 1080p screen) just get really huge and bright?
The screenshots on the homepage look really pixelated.
I also like the different background on already learned grammar in the previous theme.

I really like the new theme. Thank you for your work. I never new that you are only one year old. Considering this, the progress this site has made in 1 year is amazing. I told my sister and boyfriend about Bunpro and they should join soon. Cheers
(p.s. maybe we can have a dark theme that looks like the modern design. Something like the dark theme of the forum.)

Yeah I’d like this a lot. I tend to do reviews at night so the brightness is a little distracting.

I’m sorry buy IMO this looks awful. It’s just all white and way too bright, especially at night. Even f.lux isn’t gonna be much of a help with that “modern” design.
I’ll never understand this weird trend to give designs one solid color and call it “modern”. Microsoft did the same thing with their designs a few years ago, it just looks plain and boring. Good thing we can continue using the classic look, that one is great.

I switched back to the classic (dark) design because the new design is way too bright. Most websites (including WaniKani) don’t give a proper dark mode option, so it was kind of cool that Bunpro featured it as the primary theme.
Anyway, if you create a “modern” dark mode I’ll check it out.

Have to agree as well, the new look is too bright. I am also a fan of dark themes, so I am going to continue using the old style

Appreciate that you are trying something different, but I think the classic design was great. Not too bright, not too dark.

@ahpro168 Thank you for your feedback. Could you give us an idea of what had increased in size? We are not able to reproduce any drastic variations in size on the site. This could be a bug that we would like to fix. Thank you for letting us know about the screenshots on the homepage. They should be fixed now. Thank you for understanding! I also second the dark theme idea, though the classic theme is good enough for me personally.
I’ve also noticed that the classic theme doesn’t look like it used to on the review screen. The green and red colors look really washed out, they used to be more saturated.

Yeah, I agree with @Liras348. I personally have no problem with dark classic theme. Besides being too bright, the new light theme is a bit plain.
Yes, please fix this. 
By the way, on both the classic and new light themes, the volume button shows up as a play button.

I think the new theme is very good, and I prefer it over the old themes. Though for people who prefer dark themes, I can definitely understand why they wouldn’t like it.

I use a 4K monitor, and when I got hit by the new theme, I was dazzled for a bit.
I also don’t think there’s enough contrast between the foreground, background, and buttons. It’s a bit difficult to see where different elements start and stop.

Too bright, too boring, not enough dark, the new one is.
I am glad though, that you try new things, but imho the classic theme was perfect and other features are way more important.

I actually love the plainness of the new theme. I will use it as soon as you offer a dark variant.

Definitely need a dark variant. I scrambled to switch back immediately because its so bright - there’s way too much white.

I love it!
I prefer light mode on PC but I didn’t like the old one because there was too much contrast. This is way better!

The new theme is much more pleasant than the old one but to mirror the sentiment of the others: A dark version would be much appreciated.

@Liras348 Thank you for pointing out the color change! We were quite focused on how everything would look with the new design that we did not thoroughly test how the other themes would be affected.
