Are you supposed to be able to play audio before answering? It automatically playing after answering makes sense to me but I wasn’t sure if being able to play them before was an error. I have a bad habit of biting off more than I can chew at times so part of me was considering using that but I wanted to make sure that’s intentional and I wouldn’t be self-sabotaging myself.
Hi there and welcome to the forums!
This definitely sounds like a bug. You shouldn’t be able to hear audio before submitting an answer to a question.
Are you using the Beta Reviews feature? Or the original reviews feature?
Thanks,
Sean
Original. I was really confused when I noticed the button to play audio is always there and works. It doesn’t play by itself like when you answer
Ah! I actually misread your initial post. I thought the audio was playing automatically before answering. Still a bug though I think.
If possible, can you send a screenshot of what you’re seeing?
You shouldn’t be seeing the Play button before answering a question, only after.
Until we get this bug fixed though, the philosophical answer to your original question about sabotaging yourself – I would say you probably would be sabotaging yourself a bit, unless all you wanted to do is listening practice. OR, unless you confirmed the answer in your head before answering, and then were strict on yourself and entered the wrong answer, so that it didn’t increase your SRS level.
I’ve been experiencing this bug too, since November. I’ve reported it in the “Bug report” thread, but didn’t even receive reply It’s not breaking anything (it doesn’t play automatically), and I assume it’s not an issue in the beta, but at least an acknowledgment (or a “could not reproduce”) would’ve been nice.
