This happens with regularity; here is a specific example from this morning.
I had a (grammar) review count of 40. I started slowly working my way through, but when I was 75% finished, a real life distraction happened for an hour or so. I returned to my phone to finish the task, but when I brought the app back to the foreground, it just said I had 10 reviews to do.
This means that the review session silently closed in the background, which robbed me of (a) my ability to see how many I got correct, but more importantly (b) my ability to get a cram button for those things that I didn’t.
Maybe there is an Android power setting somewhere that would do better at keeping the app alive in the background. Or maybe this is the app’s fault. I don’t know. Are there any settings or actions I can take in the app to protect against this?
E.g. one idea is in Smouldering Durtles which I use for WaniKani, I can set review batch size, and I only do 10 at a time, so that I am likely to be able to complete them all before I get distracted. But I can’t seem to find a similar setting in Bunpro.
I guess another option might be to just manually “wrap up session” before getting distracted, but even then, if the cram button results in a really long-running task, I fear that task might have been cancelled before I return.
Any ideas?
