Sharable Profile, Cosmetics Shop & Referral Program
Hey everyone! 
We’re excited to announce that a large batch of updates just went live, bringing improvements to both new and long-standing parts of the site. 
Here’s a quick overview of what’s new and improved:
- Profile [Updated]: with revamped Overview, Stats, and Badges functionality.
- B-Points System [New!]: earn point rewards for studying.
- Shop [New!]: a place to spend your points on cosmetic items to customize your Profile.
- Share System [Updated]: allows you to show off your customized Profile.
- Referral Program [New!]: a way to earn badges, points, cosmetics, redeemable subscription time (for yourself or as a gift), and a few other fun surprises!
This is a project we’ve been working on behind the scenes, on and off, for the past couple of months.
Some features are still in Beta to get feedback, while others are already live and ready to explore!
Profile 2.0 [Live]
This update replaces the legacy Profile. While the core functionality remains largely the same, we’ve added the new Profile Card and improved the way your data and studying history is presented. We’ve also updated how sharing works to make it easier to show off your profile to friends or teachers/tutors.
Overview
The overview now offers all of the same information as it did before, however there is now new additional data about your progress, as well as new widgets such as Current Streak and Badges Showcase.
The goal is to give you (or anyone viewing your profile, if you’ve set it to ‘public’) a quick snapshot of your progress and a way to show off what you’ve accomplished so far.
Looking forward, this change will let us add even more widgets in the future so you can highlight even more of your achievements and milestones. If you have any suggestions on widgets you would find valuable to add, please let us know!
Stats
Stats still includes all the familiar data points, such as heatmaps and charts, but now also gives you the option to display Learning Data (previously found on the old share page). This will also include what’s coming up next in your Review Queue and Learn Queue and your Recent Reviews.
You can use the opt-in setting for sharing learning data here, under “Detailed Stats”
Badges
The new badges view contains new information about your total progress in each badge category.
Badges also now have a rarity based on how easy or difficult they are to obtain. Do you have any Legendary ones yet? 
Sharing
You can now publicly share your Profile! This is an opt-in setting that you can toggle in the Share Settings page here.
Once this is enabled, anyone with your link will be able to see a snapshot of your stats and progress to date.
To allow people to see more detailed and potentially sensitive Stats about your account, we have allowed this through the “Detailed Stats” section in the “Share Options”.
Profile & Dashboard Card
Lastly, one of the key additions to the new Profile is the Profile Card! This lets you add your own personal touch and make your Profile feel unique to you.
These changes are also reflected on your Dashboard, adding a bit of fun to the Bunpro page you probably visit the most.
Streak Widget
We also made changes to how the streak widget displays.
Your Profile Card consists of:
- Profile Theme
- This is the main background image and color set of your Card.
- Frame
- This frame either partly hugs or goes completely around your avatar.
- Pins
- A collection of small cosmetics. You can have between 1-3 active at any time.
- Title
- A title that highlights something you are interested in, something you find funny or is something that resonates with you.
To be able to customize your Profile Card, you will need to go to the our new Cosmetics Shop! 
Cosmetics Shop [Beta]
The Shop is a brand-new feature on Bunpro!
To access it, you’ll need to opt in to the Beta here.
Here, you can use your B-Points (more on those below) to buy items that customize your Profile Card or general Bunpro experience!
Here are a few examples of Profile Themes, Pins and Frames in the Shop:
In the future, you will also be able to purchase yet unreleased cosmetics, like Quiz Backgrounds, that customize other parts of the site.
Your Items
Under the “My Items” section of the Shop, you can see all of the Cosmetic Items you own. This includes both purchased items as well as ones you have earned throughout your journey.
Equipping Items
The quickest way to equip any items you’ve acquired would be to go to My Items, click on the one in question, then press the Equip button. Any newly equipped item(s) will replace the previous ones that were.
B-Points
How do you purchase all these cool new things from the shop? With our new currency system, B-Points! Anytime you study in Bunpro, you’ll earn BP. Here’s a full breakdown of how you can earn them:

Reviews:
- Grammar → Cloze: 10 | Reading: 6
- Vocab → Cloze: 6 | Reading: 4 | Manual Input: 3 | Flashcard: 2
- You get only get B-Points if you do the reviews.
- Marking mastered doesn’t earn any B-Points.
- Unlike XP though, you still get half points even if you miss it. The goal is to reward effort!
- The differences in points for Vocab and Grammar come down to the fact that most Vocab reviews are generally much easier, and also require little to no conjugation.
- You get only get B-Points if you do the reviews.
- Reading Passages: 300 each
- Cram: 1 per item, regardless of type

Extending Your Streak:
- Streak 1-100 → 100 per day
- Streak 100-365 → 150 per day
- Streak 365+ → 200 per day

Referrals:
- Bonus 2000 for starting your Hike!
- 100 for each basic referral signup
- 90k total earnable across all Station rewards.
All accounts were awarded B-Points for any past activity, so you can see what you have by visiting your Profile or the Shop.

Referral Program [Beta]
Welcome to 文士山 (Mt. Bunji) 
Since Bunpro’s inception many years ago, a massive driving force behind its growth has always been word-of-mouth referrals. We felt that it’s time you started actually getting rewarded for all you’ve done for us - which is how our new Referral Program was born!
How it Works
When you share your referral link, new users that signup using it become your referrals. Both you and your referral will earn some B-Points and people who signup with your link will get an extended six-week trial instead of the normal four-week one.
If one of your referrals becomes a premium member, you will earn Referral Points (RP). Depending on their membership, you will earn 1 RP (Monthly), 10 RP (Yearly) or 30 RP (Lifetime). All renewals earn full RP, forever. Upgrades and discounted memberships earn RP equivalent to the prorated/discounted amount.
Your Referral Points move you further along your Hike to the summit of Mt. Bunji. Each time you reach the required RP for a Station, you will unlock exclusive rewards which you can then redeem.

Rewards
The new Referral Program allows you to earn:
- B-Points
- Exclusive Badges and Cosmetics
- Redeemable Subscription Time
- This includes monthly, yearly and lifetime memberships that you can either use for yourself or gift to others!
- There is even a cool real life cosmetic you can earn at one of the stations!
Redeemable Subscription Time
Any Redeemable Subscription Time you earn from a Station will be available on your account to do with as you choose. If you want to redeem it for yourself you can, or you can easily share it with someone else. That means if you already have a Lifetime membership, you can earn another one to give away!

Wrapping Up
We’re really excited to finally get this update into everyone’s hands! We hope that it’s all one step in the right direction towards making your Bunpro day-to-day experience more fun and exciting to use.
Our goal for the Shop in particular is to keep things regularly updated (when time permits) so you always have a reason to keep up your study and earn more B-Points for the next cosmetic drop!
Outside of this release, we have our ongoing Related Grammar breakdown releases with N2 being worked on currently. We are also working on new grammar. Beyond that, there are a couple of overhauls to existing parts of the site in the pipeline including
- Review settings (adding more options for types, srs settings and so on) and
- Reworking how we teach grammar to make it a more holistic experience rather than just grammar point by grammar point.
