The Lisan al-Gaib meme is from the Dune 2 movie. The guy in the top/bottom picture is a believer in the messiah, and the miraculous feats he is capable of. So being able to make 800 reviews disappear instantly would basically reaffirm his belief that Paul is the messiah.

16,000 XP because he is earns 16,000円 working odd jobs. Minimum wage in japan was 608円/時 source in 2005 when Gintama was published
16,000円 /608円 is 26 hours at minimum wage. 26 hours a week sounds correct for a part time job.
(after paying rent he would have 4,000円 remaining for everything else, which was the cost of 10kg of rice in 2005 米価｜年次統計)

Some Japanese games are quite easy to understand, though. I’m a rusty N3, but I had almost no problem playing the FF1 apart from some RPG-specific vocab. But I knew things like よろい even before that, don’t remember why
