のだろうか but really about 変わる

皆が言っているけど、僕の性格は本当に変わった のだろうか

This is being translated as: Everyone is saying it, but I wonder if my personality is really that strange.
But when I read it, I thought it meant: Everyone is saying it, but I wonder if my personality has really changed…

Am I wrong in thinking this? Why?

You are not wrong, simply the word 変わる has few meanings(like many Japanese words, one of the leading ones are する which can mean to wear something small like ring, or かかる which can mean take(time, money) among others).

So 変わる means:

  1. to change
  2. to be different/uncommon/peculiar

Thanks for the reply!!
