Does Bunpou Chan have a design yet?

Late reply as I have unfortunately been away from bunpro for a while, but I think it is really cool that you shared those with us. They are really cute too.

I hope that one day you can find the time to build upon this idea, as those things can make a huge difference, in drawing in users and easing the learning experience.

What ultimately led to me learning japanese was an app called kawaii nihongo, which was recommended to me on google play, which had a cute kitsune girl as a mascot. (forgot her name)
The software itself wasn’t that good, but playful enough to keep me engaged and ultimately find Wanikani and way more important bunpro.

In one respect, the relatively uncluttered design of Bunpro is a strength, and adding a random anime girl may be a downside… however, it’s also probably possible to do it in a good way, if it’s kept unintrusive and more of a bonus.

Also, in terms of raw designing, if you like, I could easily make some designs in this one anime-girl-maker program I use, Kisekae. Might be of some help.

Bumping this thread because we still don’t have Bunpou-Chan :joy::upside_down_face::grin::frowning:

We are cooking up something, just not Bunpou-chan herself. You’ll see!

my drawing is mascot

Okay fine I will do it. I won’t make you beg anymore. Just tell me which of my two good sides you want me to take a selfie of. I will bear the weight of being bunpro’s most exotically attractive mascot.

So, we needed to update our maintenance page since we were using the default from our server’s platform which didn’t look great. We started playing around with ideas centered around the design of our Error and Not Found pages, which hopefully not many of you ran into:

The idea was just basically our Grammar Tiles™ (what we internally call putting a grammar point in a rectangle with rounded border) together with a 顔文字.

Though when experimenting with the Maintenance one, and after adding some polish, we wound up stumbling across this lil’ dude:

Everyone seemed to love it, so I re-designed the previously mentioned Error and Not Found pages to match this fun style:

From there we’ve been having a lot of fun just putting these lil dudes (Oyabuns as aptly named by @Fuga ) and throwing ideas for them. Here’s some of those:

So, not officially a mascot and not what we set out to do either, but we’ve been having a lot of fun with these in the office and wanted to share with everyone.

Where is this onsen located!

Asking for a friend, of course :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
