多読ログ - Extensive Reading Log

I’ve spent the last year learning more and more about Extensive Reading as a language acquisition tool, and decided that one of my 2026 goals was to read 100 Japanese books of any size. I’ve been doing my best to also write a little something about each book in Japanese, but I realized that I never get feedback on it, so I figured I could start posting here!

For those who don’t know, extensive reading is about reading A LOT. Not reading difficult things, or big books, or chapter books, but just reading ANYTHING in your target language.

Reading a long book is hard, but reading multiple smaller books is much easier and has a similar outcome, so I encourage anyone else who has been beating themselves up for not finishing their light novels to give this a shot.

The guidelines for commenting are:

  • Include the name of the book
  • Something interesting about the book
  • Try and write at least three sentences

Example/Book 11:
昨日はtadoku.orgの「温泉の町 別府」を読んだ。レベル3の本だって二つの新しい言葉を学んだ。「どろゆ」と「むしゆ」は温泉のタイプだけど行ったことない。学びやすい本だった。

「誰も知らない小さな家」を読んだ。少し長い本で2日間で読んでいた. エリナークライマーは作家だった。モグモグ、ポリポリ、とかまわんは新し学んだ言葉だ。子どもの本だけど面白かった。

12本って、何を数えていますか?

I’ve tried to read into it, background, reasoning, approach etc because I was curious. First time I’m hearing about it. Can you recommend a resource?

I’m trying to read at least 100 books this year. That was book number 12. Probably should have written 12冊 instead.
