According to my phone the app was updated on December 3rd, but this is still happening. I looked at the 出す grammar point this morning , and the first example sentence is, “彼は答えを言い出す時に、くしゃみをした。” The audio which plays for the example sentence is female, even though “male” is selected in the settings accessible from the sentence itself (and the “use the male lector voice whenever possible” toggle is selected in the main app settings), but when taking the quiz the male voice plays for the same sentence.
On a side note, is the male audio older? The sound quality is noticeably worse than for the female voices (there are at least two), with a sort of “tin can” quality for a lot of the sentences.
So, as I mentioned here:
I couldn’t get new lessons to start for my active vocab deck on the website or Android app.
Since then, the issue has been solved on the website, but I just tried again on mobile and I still get the おめでとうございます message there, telling me that 学習済みます.
I rarely do lessons on mobile, so I didn’t notice that the issue persisted until now.
That’s with the app v0.4.1+122
Hey @adamdschneider
It should be fixed, when you open side menu at the bottom it should say Bunpro inc 0.4.1+122.
I think your data might be out of sync, so try going to settings:
Dashboard → top left icon ->. tap on gear icon → search for reset data and tap it →
Tap on “Grammar Examples Data” and “Quiz Data” I think it should fix the issue.
Have a nice weekend!
@stoag
I have added filter menu to the decks. It will be released with next update.
You can filter by studied/not studied/no filtering.
I think that I will also manage to fix that bug by that time.
Have a nice weekend!
Resetting the data seems to have fixed it, thank you.
Now I am noticing that when you start an example sentence’s audio, it has to play out fully before another one will start. Not sure if it’s a bug, but it wasn’t that way before. To explain in a bit more detail: once I press play next to an example sentence, pressing play next to a different sentence will not play that different sentence’s audio at all until the first sentence’s audio has finished. Even if I pause the audio playing, pressing play on a second sentence just resumes playback of the first sentence’s audio. This is not really a big deal but it is a change from the way it worked before.

Hey there !
It’s been ten days so I gave it a try, but the app is still in constant loading up state. I’ve been using the website ever since.
I’m on android, cleared cache and all data, reinstall the app, but still nothing.
Edit : and locked here too :
In Cram sessions the hint settings are still not respected, and for me it always gives me ALL the hints, which makes cram sessions very unhelpful for me since I will never learn the translations if they are given to me every time. This was reported way back in March 2022 and is still continuing to be an issue.
I’ve worked around it for now by using an ad blocker to essentially remove the hints, but that also means I can’t even get the nuance, so some questions can’t be answered consistently (asking for the conjugation of a adjective, but without the context if it is past tense, or negative, or both). On top of that, I can’t check if I read the sentence right without disabling my adblocker, which requires a refresh which changes the question.
Everytime I use vacation mode it throws away my pending reviews. Either all of them or subset. For example I had 53 pending reviews when I turned on vacation mode yesterday. Today I turned off vacation mode and I only have 11 pending reviews. This is pretty annoying because I’m not sure what happens to those pending reviews. Are ALL the reviews just rescheduled? If so, then why doesn’t it appear that my “future reviews” have increased in number by 40+. Let me know. BTW LOVE the app!
Should be fixed now
Hi there and welcome to the forums!
Thanks for the feedback.
We’re going to be doing another revamp of Cram (there was one done earlier this year) in the new year that will fix these issues.
The Cram experience will reuse the Reviews system so this type of Cram/Reviews mismatch will no longer occur.
I want to get the Lifetime subscription but the Card Information field is broken on Safari.
EDIT: it’s actually missing the Input itself:
Do you happen to be running an ad-blocker? We sometimes see this issue with ad-blockers. Try disabling it and seeing if that works.
Already tried that, also disabling my router ad-blocker didn’t fix the problem.
Edit: I tested on Firefox and it worked. It would be awesome if it was fixed on Safari though
In the Safari address bar, when you tap the AA button, is the ‘turn off content blockers’ option selected? It may be the built in content blocker for Safari itself causing the issue.
I’d need to create another account to test that, because I already subscribed using Firefox.
Thanks for the tip though!
I’m pretty sure this is a bug. Supposedly the N1 write-ups were finished, but it’s missing from this point, and what they do have doesn’t seem to explain the actual grammar at all, but a separate similar point.
I don’t know if this is a bug, or I am doing something wrong, but vocabulary does not seem to work for me.
For 10% of items I click it works as intended - when clicking on a word it shows a menu, from which i can go to vocabulary page and/or add it to vocab study deck.
For 90% of items I click there is only “use furigana” toggle, and no way to see definition/add to deck. I can still manually search for that word and add it from there, but that takes ages.
Can I get some kind of reply on this one? Is it a bug or a “feature”?
Is this a bug? Might be more than one grammar point affected, but in the latest version of the app, at least, I noticed today that in the grammar point for 各 (each), the first example sentence, which was ここに並んでいる各製品はアルミ製品です, had audio, but when I did the quiz, the same sentence had no audio. Minor, but weird.
Hi there, and welcome to the forums.
Good question. This is unfortunately the case – we’re currently working on an automated system for adding support to all words.
We’ll likely make a post about it when it’s done!
