Feedback - Bug Reports

Hi there! Nice catch.

We’re aware of this issue, and that one is a repeat of this grammar point here.
Due to a limitation with our current system, we cannot delete that grammar point.
It will eventually become another grammar point further down the line.

The write up seems to be a repeat of that point, but the example sentences seem like something similar but different, with the highlighted grammar in the example sentences all having some variation of ったらありゃしない. Is that the grammar point it will become eventually?

This shouldn’t be the case. When you enter vacation mode, we save the time you enter and when you turn it off, we calculate the difference between the start and end and adjust your reviews accordingly, so the reviews you have due after vacation mode should be the same as when you entered.

I can take a look at what might be happening. Are you using vacation mode via the website or via the app?

This sentence in this grammar point has a typo, there is two は after より, and you can clearly hear the narrator only say はるかに

My activity graph, the one that charts your activity by day as two lines, is broken. (For reference on the colours, my chosen scheme is seafoam iirc.) The blue line, which is supposed to be grammar and labelled as such, appears to be keeping track of total reviews, whereas green (vocab) is working fine. This results in some funky stuff like the grammar line appearing higher than vocab even on days when I did, like, 100 vocab and 20 grammar reviews. Scrolling over them reads the right numbers, it’s just the graph itself that’s weird. This bug only happens on web, not the android app. I’m on an asus laptop using the latest version of Chrome. Thanks as always, devs, for your hard work!

Also, the web version of the graph only tracks up to a week ago whereas the app version tracks the whole month. Not sure if this is a bug, per se, but it’s a little weird.

Just thought I’d mention that I’ve noticed reviews of self-study sentences aren’t showing up on the activity graph, but they do seem to count to other things like the end-of-year review stats

When will the WaniKani furigana setting work in the Android app? I’ve tried clearing storage, resetting my API key, changing furigana settings, and toggling furigana on a word, all with no luck.

The setting works just fine on the mobile and desktop web versions, so it’s very frustrating that it doesn’t work in the app.

After creating a ghost for an example sentence, if you click on the blue dots for another example sentence immediately afterwards, it’s showing that there is also a ghost for that other example sentence too.

It’s not a big deal because it corrects itself when you click away or scroll then click back or something like that.

You can see here that I’ve clicked on the three blue dots at the bottom of the screenshot, hoping to add a ghost, but it says there is already a ghost, even though there isn’t (you can see there is no ghost symbol next to the blue dots like there is for the example sentence at the top of the screen, for example).

Love the ghost symbol appearing for example sentences though! :ghost:

I was using both, but it happened in the app on Android. However, after Christmas break, I just tested it again today and it now seems to be working correctly. Thanks.

Hi all, there’s an issue with using decks with mixed Review Types in grammar reviews on the Android app.

This is quite an edge case but currently affecting my grammar reviews, sorry!

If you have a secondary deck with a different Review Type - Grammar setting to the main deck, the reviews for the secondary deck fail to load and ‘Something went wrong.’ displays.
Using reviews on web loads items from all decks okay.

Repro:

  1. Main deck applied to N4 with Review Type - Grammar = ‘Fill-in Question/Reveal & Grade Answer’

  2. Secondary deck applied to N5 with Review Type - Grammar = ‘Reading Question/Reveal & Grade Answer’

  3. On the Android app, in Reviews, N4 (the Main deck) items load okay - click Info to verify deck item

  4. N5 (the Secondary deck) items don’t load - click Info to verify deck item

  5. Android version 13 Build TQ3A.230901.001

Like I say, quite the edge case so not a massive deal but hope that’s enough info anyway!

Kind of a weird one, but every time I try to access Bunpro, I am directed first to the homepage, finding myself logged out. I click log in, and I am immediately logged in without having to enter my login details. This happens every time I try to access bunpro.jp, specifically.
I have cleared my cookies and cache and the problem persists, but the fact that I do not have to enter my log in details indicates to me that I am being remembered, I am just being directed in a weird way. For reference, I did have to log in properly when I cleared my cookies and cache. I am using an up-to-date Firefox.

It is challenging to convey, but altering the automatically displayed hint level on iOS has an impact on the corresponding feature on the web version, and vice versa. For instance, when I select “show only translation level 1” on my iPhone, it adjusts my web settings to display “show both translation level 2 and hint level 2”. Similarly, adjusting the settings on the web version results in the display of “show translation level 2”.

This. It’s the same for Android. Drives me insane. I try to limit the device I bunpro on to not deal with it as much. You change the setting on one platform and it completely messes up the other

I have an issue where the review schedule seems to be incorrect after setting and unsetting vacation mode.

I turned it on Friday morning - then turned it off Saturday morning. However, I only ended up getting two reviews scheduled both in the expert/seasoned levels, the lack of reviews continues until Monday.

I have over twenty ghost reviews, five of which were level 1 ones - it seems like at least some of these should be getting scheduled sooner?

Summary

It’s not a massive problem, but something feels off there if you look at the past review trendline.

Hey y’all.
Just got back from Xmas/NY holiday!

Fixed!

This is working as intended – the graph is actually an area graph (not a regular, overlapping line graph), so for each date on the Y-axis, it shows the cumulative Grammar + Vocab.
Other users have question this in the past, so I’m assuming this is what you’re seeing!

Will get on it~

Will pass this on to our mobile dev!
It’s probably not a problem with your synchronisation, but just not being supported in the mobile app.

Excellent find! This has been fixed and will appear in the next update

Mentioned in the other thread – looking into it now~
@IcyIceBear

EDIT: Our mobile dev is aware of the issue and is looking into it!

This is a little… nonspecific, but the more I use the Android app, the laggier it gets. After I’ve finished around 100 reviews and 7 learned items, it gets so laggy I have to exit and restart the app. The lag increases slowly as I use the app.

Also, hope you enjoyed your vacation, Veritas!

Hi there!
I too have a similar thing happen to me, but only once every few weeks.
I believe it’s something to do with how our auth system works.

This happens to you every time? The exact page you are trying to access is just bunpro.jp?
I can’t replicate it on Firefox on Mac, but I do get the flash of the home page before being automatically redirected to the Dashboard.
Also, how recent is this bug?

Hey, veritas. Yes, this happens every time, recently. I can’t tell you exactly when it began occurring because I put up with it for a bit before I realised it was not going to fix itself on its own. I think it’s been happening for close to a month now, though. And yes, I have bunpro.jp bookmarked, so it’s always that exact URL.
