Feedback - Bug Reports

@BreadmanNin

Think I’ve got a fix for this.
Will be released soon, this weekend or early next week.

Ahhh yeah then that is “as intended”.
This has come up before so it might get fixed/adjusted down the line.

I think it’s a performance thing, as adjusting streak at the start of the session is a lot more performant than checking after every submission.

I saw that immediately before posting on here about it

Ah I see.

When I say “progressive” I only mean the ~ている form of verbs. I agree that one interpretation of 日本に行っている is “is in the state of being gone to Japan” (or more naturally in english, “is in Japan” while implying he went there). But couldn’t it also be interpreted as “is currently in the process of going to japan”? (more naturally in english “is going to Japan (as we speak)”).

For the sentence “彼は日本に行っている”, deepl gives me three possible translations: “He is going to Japan”, “He’s gone to Japan” and “He goes to Japan”. While I wouldn’t consider any automated translator (AI or not) to be authoritative, this does match my beginner’s understanding the ~ている form of verbs, does this make sense to you too?

If I’m right (which I’m not sure I am), that would mean that both bunpro’s translation and your proposed one are correct, they’re just two possible interpretations of a sentence that lacks a bit of context.

I am looking into those.

@darrenburns Are you on the latest version of the app?

Yeah, I’m on 0.4.5 and tried reinstalling with no success. @mrnoone

Randomly got a hint for this vocab and a couple of others during reviews (I think the manual input ones):

(I never usually see hints during reviews).

@darrenburns
Are you using headphones or bluetooth speaker?
What if you set the volume to the highest level?
Can you hear anything?
Do audio work for the other sentences?
Anything comes to your mind?

If I click “Change Vocab to Fill-in Question / Manual Answer” under Deck Settings > Review Type - Vocab on Jake’s “Core 4k” vocab deck, I always get an application error.

I’m unsure whether or not the action worked regardless of the error. It didn’t seem to work initially, so I changed the review type on some overlapping decks to continue my reviews.

I can reproduce it on at least Firefox on iPad, and Firefox & Chrome on Linux.

Not a bug but a typo. Shouldn’t は be を? The audio uses を. For N5 Lesson 10: 11/12.

Review items get skipped today again.

I added the nuance hints to Manual Input modes – but on hindsight this just gives away the answer huh

Yep! Unfortunately, I’m having to try really hard not to look at the hints and turn off the hints before looking at the Japanese and entering my answer

Hi,

This appeared in the summary page after my review today:

Might it be related to the Spanish translation of that field?

Good morning,

Thank you, Sean. :bowing_man:t2:

The translation for this could be “Puntos Ganados”.

Is this still occurring for you? Things look fine on my end, just trying to narrow down some possibilities if it’s still causing you issues.

I’ve come across a few instances where the furigana is inconsistent with the audio.

On 美容室, in the fourth example sentence the text reads “髪色” which has かみいろ for furigana, but the audio says かみしょく.

In 内に, in the fifth example sentence, the furigana for 日本 reads にほん, but the audio says にっぽん.

In 画家, in the first example sentence, the furigana for 描いた is えがいた, but the audio is かいた.

Hey @EdBunpro - thanks for looking into the issue.

Yes, it still happens for me. The GET to:

https://bunpro.jp/deck_settings/update_all_input_type?deck_id=753&reviewable_type=vocab

seems to always return a 503 response after 30.XX seconds. It might be a timeout somewhere.

Strange, still not happening to me after changing the type and playing around with a few variables but I’ve passed it onto relevant parties and will investigate some more tomorrow morning! Sorry for the inconvenience until then!

It’s not really an inconvenience for me at the moment (if there are cards that I wasn’t able to fix through other decks, they haven’t been coming up yet). Just thought I’d let you know about the error anyway! I’ll let you know if I confirm that it isn’t working.

PS. I have 3200+ cards in the deck at various levels of review, so it may also be effected by the quantity of in-progress cards you have.
