Main site is unresponsive and times out. Tried on two different browsers.
Are you still experiencing issues? I noticed some minor delays myself, but it seems to have cleared up after a few minutes. Either way, apologies for the inconvenience!
Site was out for a couple of hours for me, but has since recovered. Thanks for checking back!
Hey @allanw
This bug will be fixed with the next patch that we will release this week!
Cheers!
Hi
this A4 vocab has example sentences, but I can not select fill-in review. I donât think Iâve encountered this issue before, so Iâm not sure if this is a bug or expected behaviour. Some of the sentences are verified, in case this makes a difference.
I hope itâs cause they get reading mode ready
The problem did not persist, but I did get this interesting background instead of my typical castle after finishing a review session. I figured it might be worth mentioning here.
Edit: This has happened a couple times now, every time after finishing a review session. It does go away after refreshing the page.
I havenât been able to manually sync Wanikani with Bunpro since yesterday. It does show that spinning loading circle and says to continue using Bunpro while it syncs in the background, but it doesnât actually sync. When I check back later, it just shows âlast import: July 30â again.
I was just about to come here to say this! Syncing has not worked for me today or yesterday either.
Reminds me of this
Just thought Iâd let you know that I have had this impossible-to-complete sentence pop up, so the issue doesnât seem to have been totally resolved just yet
Pushed a large set of fixes/changes today.
This should be fixed on your account again, and shouldnât happen again!
(So plz let me know if it does)
Great, thanks, Iâll watch out for anything and let you know!
Issue was this Review being quite old, and was using some Legacy data that it shouldnât have been.
Pushing a fix for this now.
Youâll notice this on other Translate style questions, but weâre now displaying a random example sentence after answer reveal.
Gotcha - I guess the same info is duplicated when there arenât any example sentences available.
Bit of a strange one
I got my first item into Expert about a bit more than a week ago, and I donât think that should have been possible.
Itâs currently in Expert 1, which should have taken 4,8,24 hours to get through Beginner (2.5 days), 2,4,8 days to get through Adept (14 days), and 2,4,8 weeks to get through Seasoned (98 days) for a total of 113-114 days.
I completely reset everything on June 16th, and ç« was of course in my first lesson set. Since then, it has been 68 days of doing reviews, which would mean that ç« would at most be at Seasoned 3 (57-58 days). It would then seem that in my last review, ç« was given a double boost in SRS mode.
Furthermore, none of the other items in that lesson have managed to advance to Expert in the following week, here you can see ç§ from the same date, currently in Seasoned 3 with the same starting date and accuracy, which will only repeat in a month. Interestingly, you can see that it has been studied one time less than ç«.
Now, this is coinciding with some glitching during reviews here and there, where I sometimes get the same items twice during one review session. I believe that in the session where I was served ç« again, I did have to type it twice, so this might be a correct explanation.
Looking at it a different way, at Expert 1, I would have to wait 4 months to do the next review, meaning that since the current wait time is still 2 months, ç« would have to have been in Expert 1 since the beginning of my restart 68 days ago. It seems to somehow have gotten a double SRS stage increase, but the waiting time of a single SRS stage increase.
It could be that the SRS parameter of the review item simply gets its value increased by 1, and if this happens twice during a glitchy review session, it might just gain two steps upwards? But the new waiting period is maybe set in a fixed way, so that was applied correctly.
I do 90% of my reviews on the mobile app, so maybe that helps narrowing down what might have happened here. The double reviews (although itâs quite rare this happens) also seem to occur on the app, instead of the website. I think it usually happens when I lose connection for a little bit.
Either that, or the Cat Lover title from the shop gives your ç« item a one-step boost.
It could be that other items have received this boost and I would have never known.
So does that mean once Iâve encountered a review with this âissueâ, the next time I encounter a review of that word, itâll be a normal review again grading an example sentence instead of the way it is on that screenshot?
They should all be fixed now â we ran a script over the DB to remove all instances of these.
This new feature â âdisplay random example sentences for Translate-type questionsâ â has nothing to do with your Review Types or the Fill-in-the-blank type of questions.
TLDR You shouldnât notice any strange behaviour now!
