Feedback - Bug Reports

Thanks for your thorough breakdown!
I’ve given you a lil present.

I’ll take a look at this Review and do some analysis.
Your theory about the double-up of Reviewing could be on point.

EDIT: Looks like you indeed correctly answered 猫 twice in the same session.
On Thu, 07 Aug between 8 ~ 10pm
Any idea if this would have been done on the app or on the web version? :eyes:

I have no clue how this could be possible, but the iOS app and the website in Safari on MacOS are currently displaying totally different reviews. I have 0 pending in iOS and 15 pending in MacOS. I’ve relogged into both and updated the iOS app.

EDIT: Reinstalling the app seems to have fixed it!

Oh my lord

I am not 100% sure, I think I do most (80-90%) of my reviews on the phone, especially in the evening, so I think that is highly likely.

EDIT: I am actually 100% sure it was on my phone, I was at the gym for once! My internet history on my laptop also doesn’t go further than slightly before 8pm on that day, so it is highly likely.

Good thing to note is that the internet connection in the gym was a bit spotty here and there, and it might be that I’ve had a forced reload during a review due to that. It could be that a confirmation was sent to the website database, before the app was able to confirm the item as correct in its own review database, having it appear twice?

All good info! :ok_hand:

I’ve passed this on to the mobile developer, as I’m not sure how the mobile app queues Reviews.

EDIT: Looks like he may have found the issue.
Fix will be out in the coming days/weeks!

Rather than reporting these individually, I thought I’d post here that these vocab could probably do with a checkup:

I just stumbled over N5 vocab that doesn’t come with audio, thus the listening mode defaulted to reading: うるさい

Do you already have a list and working on them or do you want any audio-less vocab linked? Thought vocab were AI voices, so all vocab that have sentences should have audio, right?

I reported one of those (50) after it was auto-added through wanikani, via the bug function on the app, and I was told this is intended :frowning:

These should be updated now.

@thelizard I believe Bunny was talking about the way that furigana was displayed, not the way the numerals are written!

Just in case we misunderstand (I phrased it badly), I reported it because in the review, it’s displayed as:

ごじゅう
50
_____

which seems to have little value. There’s nothing to recall. the expected answer is displayed in the question. It is auto-added because wanikani teaches you 五十

The reply I got was that all numbers are displayed this way. Which I suppose makes sense from a consistency point of view

I think I misunderstood the feedback and i definitely I see your point. It’s something the team will discuss!

You’re right that I was mainly getting at the furigana and also half-width/full-width for “90”, but it’s a fair point about all the vocab which display exactly as their English equivalents would (unless you have furigana turned on).

My apologies if I missed an update on this, but just letting you know that I still have the same sentences duplicated in the list of ghosts.

For example this is there twice, both times in Ghost 1 stage:

サイト:「我々のシステムは質問への回答が正しいか否かは照会とデータベースと…
か否か

Sometimes in listening mode style reviews, the hint appears for a split second when the review is loaded. It shows up long enough so that I can sometimes read the hint, before it vanishes, which spoils the aswer of the review.

It happened like 3 times during my ca. 90 items long review session. I couldn’t figure out how to reproduce it.

Web, iOS (fully updated), safari.

Hello. I set my vocab reviews to be only in translation and auto evaluation. But I still have reviews with manual sentences to fill. Any idea on how to fix ? Thanks

Reviews while offline.

Can anyone confirm whether the bug has been fixed where, when reviewing offline, and then connecting back online, the work put offline disappears, and you have to do it all over again?

I went on a trip a few months back and spent 3-4 hours catching up on cards, only for the system to act as if that never happened. I’m flying to Japan next week and have much to catch up on — perfect for a 16 hour trip, but I’m not going to invest time into it if I’ll have to do it all over again as soon as I get back online.

Will be checking this!
Could you provide more details on private message?

Hello, I keep trying to remove some items from my reviews but they still appear in the following batches

I’ve now had the issue a couple times that during my reviews, as soon as I hit 30 items, it automatically puts it in the end review mode, so that I go through my mistakes again. But after I’m done with that, it just just loads endlessly, so I have to refresh the page, and after that it only saved a couple of reviews. This is very frustrating but I’m not sure what causes it or how to reproduce it.
I was shown no errors, my connection should have been fine (full wifi connection on Android using Firefox) and other than the 30 item mark, I have not noticed a reliable pattern yet. It always happened during my morning reviews, I think.
