I have a few suggestions that stem from a few problems I’m having. The first is
I find that the level reflected in some grammar points does not actually match my fluency with said grammar point. I find myself revisiting basics a lot, as life sometimes throws me off my language learning. I think it would be good if we could have an option to ‘demote’ entire categories by one level, or entire JLPT deck contents by one level (or both) for example, if I need to revisit potential forms, I could downgrade the entire category they are in, rather than individually going to each lesson and downgrading them manually.
Wanikani Synchronization: I have previous synced, and then unsynced Wanikani mainly due to it synchronizing a lot of Non JLPT versions of words into my reviews. As wanikani sometimes gives less common words with the aim of Kanji fluency, I find some of these a bit less in line with my goals at best, and duplications at worst. Additionally, as these less common readings, commonly also come without context sentences, their implementation makes them no more useful than Wanikani itself. It would be good if we could specifically remove words found outside of certain decks, or just import specifically what is in line with our criteria to begin with.
My proposal for this would be a simple checkbox that opens a menu allowing a selection of decks. The flow specifically being
- Check the box
- Click the plus icon next to the vocab decks (e.g Bunpro JLPT, Genki, etc)
- Select import (Anything found outside of said decks will not be added to reviews, seasoned, or mastered).
