When you click on a word during your reviews, it’d be nice if you could get the English translation and add it to your reviews. Right now I’m just opening a new tab, searching for the word, then adding it
Same issue but for me it is flying and being in remote locations regularly.
I only joined last year so maybe I am missing the background to understand why the app cannot function offline, but the other apps I use (Kanji Study and AnkiDroid) do this perfectly.
Is this something that’s being worked on for the future? Thank you!
I came here to request this too!
hey
I would love to have easy option to change review type of multiple items at once
I’m currently doing my reviews as fill in & manual until adept 2 level, and then change them to reveal & grade. And without option to do it at once for (for example) all items at given level, I have to click every single item in deck manualy, which takes time.
Or if it was easier then maybe option to set review type per chapter in deck? I know I can update whole deck at once, but didn’t find an option to do it per single chapter.
In this case adding option on deck page next to the chapters “set review type” with the same popup as on the single vocab/grammar page then
Is there anyway to add a vocabulary ghost sub-tab to the cram function? There is one for grammar, but not for vocabulary. I always cram the reviews I missed the day prior, and not having to manually search for them would streamline my studies.
I’m trying to switch Genki I deck to English, while keeping the overall Bunpro N5 grammar in French. Is that possible?
Hi there!
Can you please elaborate more on this idea?
Are you meaning like adding automatic pauses between natural breaks (full stops etc.) in the sentences?
Currently, unfortunately not!
Are you able to check again?
I’ve checked this on my account, and that feature seems to already exist!
Yes, that’s pretty much what I mean! It would be a setting you can turn on that would change the audio for a sentence from:
「嫌い」と言うより「好きではない」と言った方が正確だ
to
「嫌い」 と言うより [PAUSE FOR REPEAT]「好きではない」[PAUSE FOR REPEAT] と言った方が正確だ [PAUSE FOR REPEAT]
Would be cool if the bunpro vocab summaries were listed within the IOS app (they aren’t). As well as possibly a section to view colloquial japanese word definitions (rather than 1:1 jp->en) as past N5 I’ve personally found sticking to english definitions is restricting/misleading at times and switched to mainly pulling whatever jp wiktionary or other jp dictionaries have for each word or grammar. Idk how common this study strat is but I’ve found immense success with it given my roughly 5 months of study and being able to understand to a degree most things.
Please (x1000) add a skip button. Just to send it down the queue when doing reviews.
When I have a ton of reviews I rather do the ones I know very fast and then end with the few I don’t know so I can sit down and think/study them at the end. It’s easier to study after feeling accomplished in my experience.
I like this idea. As a beginner, it would be really helpful for me to be presented a mix of fill-in and translate review types for vocab. Could be randomly selected each time.
I had been doing exclusively fill-in style answers and just tried translate, and I found that I couldn’t translate quite a few that were at a decent srs level.
I’d very much like this too—the variety would be nice
Just thought about a really cool feature for learning vocabulary.
Would be great for the question type a answer type settings to change considering the SRS level you’re at. Questions and answers can become more and more difficult as you’re mastering the word.
Going through the website, one feature I would love is to have the option of adding clicked words/vocabulary to your reviews if it’s available inside bunpro.
Sometimes in the reading sections I find vocab that I want to immediately add to my review queue but have to manually search for it. It would be nice to have a quick add
This is something I’ve mentioned before so I’ll echo this!!
I also prefer to smash out the easy stuff first and leave the hard stuff for later. Having the same words I’m having trouble with come up over and over is draining.
Welcome to the community!
This feature is currently under development.
Can’t give you a timeline of when it will be ready, but we hear you!
I have a few suggestions that stem from a few problems I’m having. The first is
I find that the level reflected in some grammar points does not actually match my fluency with said grammar point. I find myself revisiting basics a lot, as life sometimes throws me off my language learning. I think it would be good if we could have an option to ‘demote’ entire categories by one level, or entire JLPT deck contents by one level (or both) for example, if I need to revisit potential forms, I could downgrade the entire category they are in, rather than individually going to each lesson and downgrading them manually.
Wanikani Synchronization: I have previous synced, and then unsynced Wanikani mainly due to it synchronizing a lot of Non JLPT versions of words into my reviews. As wanikani sometimes gives less common words with the aim of Kanji fluency, I find some of these a bit less in line with my goals at best, and duplications at worst. Additionally, as these less common readings, commonly also come without context sentences, their implementation makes them no more useful than Wanikani itself. It would be good if we could specifically remove words found outside of certain decks, or just import specifically what is in line with our criteria to begin with.
My proposal for this would be a simple checkbox that opens a menu allowing a selection of decks. The flow specifically being
- Check the box
- Click the plus icon next to the vocab decks (e.g Bunpro JLPT, Genki, etc)
- Select import (Anything found outside of said decks will not be added to reviews, seasoned, or mastered).
