:bunpro_icon: Feedback - Suggested Improvements/Feature Request

I’ve been really enjoying Bunpro recently, but I was wondering if there is or if there could be a system similar to Anki where you can adjust the amount of reviews during the week. I know everyone has different schedules and approaches, but the ability to set weekends or days of the week to different scales of reviews. Anki has the minimal - max approach, but a similar system here would be greatly appreciated.

Not exactly what you mentioned, but may help: I usually cram the missed items right after the review ends, if there is any. I think if you can access your last review data, the cram option may be there.

Also, from the stats page, I regularly cram the problematic items, or what’s their name.

When learning new vocab/grammar, I’m unable to easily drill the new grammar/words so I can get them down before doing the initial review, which greatly impacts my learning speed and efficiency.

I would really really love to have a special entry in cram mode to cram “upcoming content” for any grammar/vocab deck.*

* extra notes:

Summary

* currently the special section modes only allow to drill already learned content, but not upcoming content
* “upcoming content” means the next cards to learn that you’d see when you click “Learn” on the dashboard for any deck. The special sections would ideally by default cram only the cards for the next batch as opposed to the daily goal
* Adding a button to the learning page to do the cram mode would also be helpful

  I really hope this can be added so I can unblock the block on my efficiency

TLDR: Include an Option to disable the Auto-conversion to Japanese upon typing so we can practice typing in Japanese.

Hello,

A simple request. I want to improve my typing in Japanese whether through computer or phone. So an option to disable to Auto-conversion (IME?) would be good for some of us.

EDIT: The auto-conversion as torpedotaiyaki pointed out refers to the Kanji. So yes, disabling the conversion from the hiragana to kanji would be good.

I would pretty please like to request more customization in the shop <3 I love collecting points for new things!

Something like a customizable avatar could be very fun too :rabbit:

I use Japanese input all the time without issue. Both the Google JP keyboard on Android and Mozc/fcitx on Linux Mint.

Unless you’re specifically talking about kanji conversion. I guess that’d be different.

Yes. That’s what I intend. The kanji conversion. I think disabling that option to allow us to practice will be very good.

I often find my self turning on the lightning mode for my vocabulary reviews and turning it off for the grammar reviews from the quiz settings. I was wondering if you could add the lightning mode on the settings reviews for grammar and vocabulary individually. Also, it would be grate if one could set up the reviews to automatically show the full translation after answering in fill in manual mode.

Feature Request: Create Your Own Example Sentences

Whenever I come across a new vocabulary word, I add it to a custom deck in Bunpro so I can include it in my study queue later.
However, since some vocabulary words don’t yet have example sentences (which is completely understandable), I’d like to be able to add them myself.
Just like with the self-study sentences, but linked to the vocabulary’s SRS system.
Maybe there could even be an option for the self-study sentences to link them to the vocabulary.

That would be great! :innocent::pray:t2:

Hi!
I know you guys actually read the feedback, and you all do a great job with bunpro

That being said I’d love to see more conjugation exercises for causitive and passive causitive verbs. It’s the most difficult grammar by far for me and I still confuse it when trying output.

My main gripe is that the passive causitive practice uses a lot of する verbs and not much of anything else. But IMO it’s important to have a good balance of ichidan and godan verbs with different endings for it to get used to it properly. For example 飲む 飲ませられる 話す 話させられる 食べる 食べさせられる (I think?) etc! And it’d be nice to be able to practice “shortened” Vs “full” causitive passive eg 飲まされる / 飲ませられる

Thanks for your consideration

You should try our conjugation tool!

Here is the setup for causative passive:

We get this one quite a bit!
I can’t say anything right now, but it’s on our radar that we need to rework Self Study sentences to fit within the Vocab/Grammar’s actual SRS schedule, and not treated separately from it.

Vacation mode doesn’t actually pause your reviews from piling up, it just results in your streak not getting broken? That’s a slight shame.

improvement suggestion: How about adding visuals for vocabularies learning? Like, each vocab has visual (e.g. image, gif), maybe the users can add it themselves. I feel like this is better for retention.

I would like to have a cram feature for specific JLPT style questions: like the dreaded “star” question section. “Cramify” the jlpt test.

Wow I didn’t know this was a thing

It does both!

I had forgotten about that tool too and just tried it out.
I think there is a bug on the て form of 開く, I have written aite and it says it is wrong?
Sorry for the ping if it is a noob mistake on my part :bowing_man:

It did not do both. I turned on Vacation Mode at ~2,300 reviews, came back with 3,300 reviews.

I would like the bookmarking function for example sentences as well! I always take screenshots of the ones I want to remember, but that gets a bit annoying.
