如何で いかんで
This one already exists as an N1 grammar point (search for いかん and it should come up).
~こともあって・こともあり・ということもあって
highlighting one of the reasons, 他にも理由があるが、〜ので
Classified as N1 here 〜こともあって|日本語能力試験 JLPT N1文法 : 絵でわかる日本語
example
こともある in ことがある (JLPT N3) | Bunpro is different
たことがある in たことがある (JLPT N5) | Bunpro is closer, but also different
A couple I have seen but not on Bunpro, maybe?
〜もしないで
~と言っても過言ではない
I also just stepped over the こともあって today on my N1 preparations.
Just ran into きっての while reading, and it’s already in Asher’s list. Nice!
Found another unfamiliar grammar in 人類は衰退しました:
おじいさん:「…、だめ孫よ」
わたし:「ひどいおっしゃりよう」
I think it’s this: 〜よう(様子)|日本語能力試験 JLPT N1文法 : 絵でわかる日本語
【接続】
動詞[ます形]+よう
【意味】
すごく〜する様子
〜ないでいる
There are entries for 〜ている 〜ずに/ないで but I ran across this combination and thought it would be worth mentioning, since it’s not obvious how these combine.
【ほどなく】
[V-てほどなく]
[V-るとほどなく]
(1)祖父が亡くなってほどなく祖母も亡くなった。
Soon after my grandfather died, my grandmother died, too.
Means “shortly afterwards, soon, before too long.” It is used to describe a past event. It is a formal expression often used in written language. ほどなくして may be used in the place of ほどなく
Could I request the various 限る variations?
Xに限る
X限りでは
I find 限りconfusing and the way Shin Kanzen Master divides it up makes a lot of sense but some SRS would be great! Thanks!
A grammar point I just came across in Tokyo Ghoul:
Conjugation: Verb stem + おる
Meaning: to have the audacity to ~
It is definition number 3 in bunpro’s vocab listing (linked below), but it is actually a unique grammar point that functions like “~やがる”:
Not sure if this is already covered elsewhere in which case I apologise but I think there’s a potential further use of に堪えない that is not on bunpro, that which is found in TRY! N1 number 69: “expresses a feeling that is extremely~”.
Actually on the bunpro に堪えない grammar page it is written that
In this meaning, に堪えない will be used following verbs. This is in contrast to the に堪えない grammar point that follows nouns, and means ‘to be very (A)’,<
but the latter isn’t provided as separate grammar point or included in the 例文
Someone mentioned this was missing in 2022 - standard N2 grammar - but surprisingly I still haven’t found it on Bunpro:
Verb + も in the meaning of Verb + ても
(is it N0? is it too outdated to learn in 2025? I don’t know)
Example (from 悪役令嬢レベル99):
裏ボスは強い。魔王をギリギリ倒せたパーティーで挑むも、ボコボコにされて逃げ帰るというのはほとんどのプレイヤーが通る道だろう。
Found this helpful forum post explaining it:
Love the site, but cant say id want to pay more after buying a lifetime. Don’t know why you said you would want too, it would kinda defeat the point of buying a lifetime membership
一つとして~ない
“not even one”
It is used in an example sentence in に足りない (JLPT N1) | Bunpro but there’s no grammar point for it on Bunpro.
