A related word that isn’t included as a grammar point on Bunpro but I think is worth comparing:

〜て一緒に〜する (do together)

一緒にご飯を食べる
eat together (side-by-side)

VS

〜合う (mutual action)

食べ合う
feed each other

From what I understand 一緒に is people are doing the same action in parallel, while with
〜合う people are doing the action to each other?
